Is there any kind of code for saying something wordlessly that can be heard in adjacent rooms? For example, screaming, crying, etc? Or do people just say "Aaaagh!" or some such in those situations?
Sadly, there is not. All you have is "shout".
The idea of room-crossing emotes has certainly come up before, though.
If you change your ldesc people could see it from a room back. Change your ldesc and shout would work sort of. After you shout then people would look.
I think It would be cool if there was a shout emote. Shemote or something like that, unfortunately there isn't one.
Change ldesc is on his hands and knees crying audibly.
Shout (crawling around on his hands and knees) AHHRRG! DAMN YOU!
Maybe someone can suggest (using the "idea" command) a "language" that bypasses the language code? Or a way of emoting that extends to attached rooms, like shout does?
I don't think you should be able to 'force' crying into adjacent rooms (like shout). But it would be cool if you could do 'loud' emotes that had a chance of being overheard from adjacent rooms. But you would need separate the elements that could be heard and seen?
loud emote or lemote
Lemote Tinking sounds ring out as @ works some stone
ecohes:
A tinking sound rings out as someone works some stone to the east.
look east
the door is closed
Think Hmm, well someone is around, and it sounds like their busy at work. Think I will break in another time.
You sneak off to the south.

How would it know to change "Tinking sounds ring out" to "A tinking sound rings out".
Otherwise, YES. That would be cool.
