Mansa,

My condolences.

I was ordered to do so, so as a good executor, sapped her in the Arena for my Templar. Then the whole cell scene. Then the following circle of life for many Rinthis resulting in her feeding the rat-multitude. Very memorable character and scenes.

Aged: 16 years
Played: 121 days, 17 hours

What I remember is him cutting up my new character's face with a knife as Salarri initiation.

And also, I'm pretty sure it was Omar, who clearly had a scripted trigger that they accidentally hit and his hands and body suddenly were engulfed in flame for no reason.

I disregarded it lol

Quote from: perfecto on March 27, 2024, 07:15:09 AMThose are some HUGE numbers!  As are some of the others who've shared in this thread.. We're talking several RL years on each character here. So I gotta ask, and this is a question for all who have spent the time to earn that merit badge for a Super Long Lived Character.  Asking on behalf of the masses here.. What's your secret?  How do you stay interested/invested/growing with that same character all that time?  How did you play Iyat an Agitator role for FORTY IG YEARS and survive till the end!?  Congrats by the way!  On your character being immortalized into the story timeline, I wonder if we'll feel an impact from your escapades in the upcoming season?

I've always preferred having a PC with a backstory rooted in IC events over a fully virtual background, which is why I started selecting younger ages at chargen and trying to time my first logins to coincide with an RPT so I could get some instant backstory. The interest/investment/growth is all bundled up in fleshing out this character's story and wanting to see how it ends.

Quote from: Evilone on April 25, 2024, 07:48:26 AMThe Vrun Driath can be so boring. It needs more landmarks. Oasis. Desert Plantlife. Rock Formations. Underground Riverbeds. Large Cave Systems. Mines/Quarries. Villages. Ruins. High vantage points that rooms surrounding echo to the one spot (places that could allow for tactical military advantage). And so on.

I 100% agree as someone who played a lot of hunter characters. The north is so much more fun to hunt, gather and explore than the south. I really hope the south gets a face lift rather than being 500 desert/salt flat rooms

Undertuluk,
Labyrinth Sewers,
Plane of Krath.
I was so fascinated when I visited those places for the first time. I still wish to have chars that would dare to go those places.
There is also Xytrix Za. I want to play a Mantis just to hang around there whole day.

General Discussion / Culture, Names and Accents - A...
Last post by Kavrick - April 30, 2024, 07:26:00 AM
So this is something I felt had been potentially missing from the culture/details help pages on different cultural areas of the game, and that's the distinction of names, accents and stuff like this. I feel like it really helps getting into character when you know these things. Whilst you can sort of learn the culture of these different places, the help pages feel like they're missing some gaps on what the average person raised in a particular part of zalanthas would be like, particularly Tuluk and Allanak. Even things such as asking the question of 'how would you stereotype someone from allanak', or the same question towards any other region of the game. I can't really tell how old the helpfiles are but I also noticed that the Tuluki help files seem a lot more thorough than the allanaki ones, if the up-and-coming season is going to be focused on Allanak, it would be nice to get a bit more of a 'pictures' of what staff would like to consider someone thoroughly 'Naki'.

So to go with this, I thought I'd ask a few questions to anyone who reads this to get an idea of what the general consensus would be when it comes to Nakians in general.

1. How do you think the southern/allanaki accent sounds?

2. Could you give five names that you would consider 'Allanaki' in scheme?

3. Could you give both three positive and three negative stereotypes you would consider generally 'accurate' to Allanakis?

My absolute fav's are those tiny little hidden places juuuust around the corner, just out of reach, just beyond eye-sight, literally scattered from one end of this world to the other.  Those places you only stumble upon by total accident, or while running for your life!  The amount of them I've discovered and the sly grins they've given me... I tell ya...  Sometimes I actually stop playing for a minute or two, just to take in the moment, and think to myself...  "I've been playing this game for almost 30 fuckin' years, and I JUST FOUND THIS PLACE.. I wonder if ANY OTHER PLAYER has ever even been here before?"  Not to mention the Unfathomably Horrific Things that created.. Or might very well still inhabit some of them!

Ooo and your apartment.. I Looove playing in Your Apartment.   ;)

IMO Component Crafting should be wisdom instead of agility.
It is a magick related skill on the other hand a crafting skill.
As a crafting skill it requires some level of agility but the most important thing regarding Component Crafting is knowing what to do and how to do.
