<Nessalin> OK, next topic, Armageddon Reborn

<Terri> When will we players start seeing documents for Arm Reborn?
Will there be some general public documents for us to start reading soon?
<Terri> (done)
<Sanvean> Well, there is a blog that contains some previews. As far as
the actual website, you won't see that until around the same time we open
for play
<Sanvean> The best way to get more blog posts is to comment when people
put stuff upthere, I suspect ;) (done)

<Venomz> I'm curious about an update on progress in 2.0 as a whole.
How're things going over yonder? What sort of problems are being run into,
what sort of revelations have been had? Just anything neat that hasn't been
posted about. Also, I actually want to add to what Booya just said before
you answer me, if you'll indulge me...please?
<Sanvean> *nod*
<Venomz> If it were me, I'd suggest a optional single channel in the
current game, something that is not so hard to do, code-wise, that would
allow this chatroom sort of atmosphere. Speaker names would be account names
and of course, the system would be monitered, and rights could be taken away
from idiots as far as accessing it.
<Venomz> This would help a great deal with the 'empty-tavern' bit for
new folks.
<Venomz> (done)
<Sanvean> Well, things are moving along - one thing I can say is that
it's turned out to be a bigger task than anticipated, but still doable :)
You should be seeing some neat stuff comign down the pike over the next six
months or so.
<Sanvean> Morg can talk a bit about recetn changes, here he is
* Venomz salivates.
<Morgenes> based on how things went with the last staff meeting, we made some
tweaks to how things are cached on our end
<Morgenes> the colors you are seeing are based off a set of preferences that
we store in the database
<Morgenes> two weeks ago I realized that when we have a large group in one
place we have to make sacrifices to not have everything pulled automatically
from the db
<Morgenes> especially something like color preferences which likely don't
change all that often
<Morgenes> but are used with every message sent

<HATSnHARLOTRY> Hello hello. My question is about spice/alcohol
addiction. So far as I know, there's only effects for short-term in Arm 1,
what is the difference in 2.arm? Will there be see-able signs of
alcoholism/spicing like there might be akin to drugsetc. in real life?
<HATSnHARLOTRY> Also, I'm not sure if this is in effect, but is there a
hang-over effect in game? (i.e. reduced wisdom or something.) Follow up:
Hang-over cures?
<HATSnHARLOTRY> Done.
<Sanvean> Well, there are long-term effects in Arm 1.0. I would suspect
that will carry over to the new game.
<Sanvean> As far as I know, there's no hangover code in place right
now, but I think it's a fun idea.

<Suser> Hi! This is going back a topic, regardng clan staff
communication. (I'm command challenged. Silly help.) At what point, if
we're pursuing an RP angle and we don't hear back, should we move forward
with it? Is there an escalation path if we should not move forward with it?
I can think of three rough scenarios:
<Suser> 1. Something that significantly impacts other clannies, PC or
vNPC. For instance, wanting to kill off a PC superior because they pissed
in your tea.
<Suser> 2. A plot that was brought upon you by an imm. Random
example, a mysterious NPC sends you off on a quest to find the cure to
random person's disease, but then you don't hear back on what to do next
with the plot, after you find it.
<Suser> 3. A plot involving a leader. For instance, a bard wanting to
sing a new, controversial song about Fancypants Dasari but only with the
approval of their Circle Master.
<Sanvean> With all of those, if you've mailed a couple of times and not
heard back, I would go ahead and mail the mud account.
<Sanvean> Really, though, with all of them, the imm is behaving badly
if they are ot mailing you back, feel free to keep nudging.
