How long are elven ears, in general, on Zalanthas? I mean, are we talking long like Link?
(http://www.whois.com/Whois-hot/poll/9-Animated_Characters/Link.jpg)
Or even longer, like an elf from the Warcraft world?
(http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/c/c9/Highelfeyes.jpg)
Or are they short, and just pointy, like Legolas' depiction in the Lord of the Rings films?

I've been wondering this for a while, so I find it odd that I just now decided to make a thread about it. Anyway... yeah. How big are Zalanthan elf ears?
I've always pictured them somewhere between Link and Spock.
Spock=dwarf
Link=elf
???
Ever see fake elf ear at Ren Fest/Sci-Fi Conventions? That's what I always picture.
Legolas = half elf
Link = elf
WOW = demon freak

That picture is the ONLY time you'll ever see those races standing that close together ... ... ... and even then, the halflings couldn't help themselves.
I've always loved how the mantis is about to gank the mul.
What is that thing chewing on the giants foot?
An ankle-biter.

No he is trying to hug the mul! Have you hugged a mul today?

I figure it's something that could vary from elf to elf. I mean, in the real world, human ears are all sorts of different shapes and sizes, aren't they?
Though I always figured the LOTR-style pointed ears would better suit half-elves or dwarves, just because they weren't all that pointed.
I picture them with Drew Hayes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_Elves) elf ears.

Wow ... those ears are worthy of netsex.
Those aren't ears. Those are practically wings.

And after a second look, I noticed that the ears actually keep going, it's just that the top of the picture crops them off.
I have never noticed that thing gnawing on the half-giant's foot.
I'm willing to bet that that elf could easily beat the human and the half-elf in arm-wrestling. More strength to the elves!
Ever notice that the mantis is missing a set of legs?

I picture more like the Link ears on elves. Though the Drew Hayes elf there looks like a real badass, doesn't he?
I think a taller lankier legolas, with much more angular features and more almond shaped eyes is a Zalanthan elf to me.
I've always pictured them to be just extremely lanky, angular-feature, almond-eyed humanoids.
works for me.
??? I've never noticed before while playing WoW....but youd think Elves would at least attempt to trim thier eyebrows....they must tuen into sideburns whenever a helm's put on.

Mantis have six?
mantis can now climb
and do fractions.
Well, I've not actually looked at one IG in a long time, But last time I did, it showed as legs and two sets of arms.
I think that picture needs to be posted here:
http://www.armageddon.org/general/races.html
From the docs:
QuoteMantises are hulking insectoids who generally stand about 85 inches in height at the shoulder (they are nearly 48 inches longer than they are tall). They are six-limbed exoskeletal creatures, covered by a hard, sandy yellow-to-ruddy brown carapace. Their heads are wedgelike, with two black compound eyes on either side and a laterally-working jaw at the front. Two antennae grow from between their eyes, and serve as aids to movement when in darkness.
That's four legs, and two arms. As the picture suggests, though two of the legs are pretty hard to spot.
Edited to add: I believe, however, that Darksun Mantises have four arms and four legs.
I thought it was two legs and four arms?
The same docs suggests that they don't sleep, but couldn't if they wanted to because of their limbs. I'd take that to mean that they have four, like a cow. But honestly, I don't know now.
