is karma consumed when you use it to make a character? like if I have 3 karma and I make a character that requires 3 karma, do I go back to zero?
Nope. Karma's a score associated with your account. Getting to 3 Karma unlocks options restricted to that karma level for you to use. So you could churn out 0karmaGuild+3karmaSubguild PCs to your heart's content.
You can only lose Karma if staff take it away from you.

The easiest way is to log into the game and check what races you have available.
If you have desert elf that means you have atleast one.
If you check classes and you have Rukkian or Viv you have atleast two.

We also normally email you when we give you a new point of karma.
