Bragging (no ic spoilers please)

D'aww. All I did was play Ceja, the oversized slave to Mallor. :'(

I still think the best closure you get in Armageddon is just moving on to the next character.

Some of my favorites (that are old enough to name) that I've played:
Aiya  - the much publicly beat Oash gemmed
Sid - the bronzed, henna-maned woman who outdanced a gypsy at a tribal party and was otherwise entirely too much fun.
Laili/Ali/Trouble - Tuluki mother of a Fale bastard and aide to a Kuraci, making 3k per roll in the sand and packing the tooth with bards, spice and Chosen.
Cumani - nuff said.

Except me. I remember every death. And I am coming for you bastards.

The guards at the Scaien gate saw me coming, yelled "A troublesome beast approaches!" and slammed the gates shut.
I was playing a 0 karma race / guild, not special app, completely mundane with no magick involved. Or undeadness. No immtervention. And I wasn't being followed. I -WAS- the beast. Figure that out. *snicker*  8)

I played Elithan Winrothol.

This is a line from his initial biography written in Dec 2002:

Ha!

My app for Raul was basically me going "LET ME PLAY THIS FUCKING BYN ROLE!!!!1111!!" and "I don't know what he looks like but he has a mustache, that's for sure."

The initial accepted background included the bit: "Years of training have made his body powerful, and years of hardship have made him grizzled as fuck."

As you can see, I -always- take great pains to develop the myriad layers of my complex characters.

My first magicker was a halfbreed gemmed, who, at under three hours played and with no particularly useful skills, was drafted to go be support staff for the army in the Copper War.

One day, long before the wilderness navigation code, he ran away from the army's camp in a huff because he was being treated like a halfbreed.

Wandering in a storm, he came upon a gith camp he didn't know was there.  Three arrows came arching in, and he narrowly avoided serious injury through luck.  He ran like a bitch, and became hopelessly and completely lost as night fell.  He huddled down for the night, in the open with only a cloak, and ended up waiting out a three-day storm.  Not only was the character lost, I was lost as well.

With no food, no mount, and almost no gear, he managed to flee a snake that came after him while looking for water (it out-matched him) and wander all the way to Luir's.

Resting and re-outfitting (he still had most of his newb coin), the halfbreed travelled, on foot, back to the 'Nakki camp.  It had been days, and he'd been assumed dead.

Has it been a year for Raul, yet?

We have stories to tell.

Like the poetry contest, and who should really have won.   ;)

It sucks that venomz and Zoltan get to brag after one year because they died. What about everyone who is still alive :P.

I don't really like knowing who's played who. Then again, part of me enjoys it.

Hmm -- My brag -- I've been playing this game long enough to 'remember the good old days'; however, I accept being laughed at by old timers like Synthesis and X-D who more than double my time spent playing Armageddon. Kudos for sticking around for so long, you cranky bastards. (You too, Malifaxis)

You know full well that this is a hell of a brag in itself, man.

Once, during an RPT, as my PC lay unconscious on the verge of death, her NPC half-giant guard wept.
Varak:You tell the mangy, pointy-eared gortok, in sirihish: "What, girl? You say the sorceror-king has fallen down the well?"
Ghardoan:A pitiful voice rises from the well below, "I've fallen and I can't get up..."

Later, when that pc fucked up that NPC got fed to a ----- in a red robe's residence to punish her. And she wept.

According to my bio entries on the login

Initial Background : Dec 03, 2002
[Title Censored Bio Entry] : Nov 22, 2008

That was my last bio entry, but I played him well into 2009.

It's an Armageddon romance.
A dark-shelled scrab pinches at you, but you dodge out of the way.
A dark-shelled scrab brandishes its bone-handled, obsidian scimitar.
A dark-shelled scrab holds its bloodied wicked-edged, bone scimitar.

Okay, it's been way over a year, so I'm going to talk about my most beloved character.

I played the amber-hued, obsidian-eyed elf, a Red Fang called Ghost to some and Raniya to others. I played her for a year and a half during second quarter 07-fourth quarter 08. Some fun stuff:

- She was only my second PC.
- She had something like 50 days played or more... I can't remember.
- She ran with another of her tribe that was also well known, if not infamously, Venom.
- While playing her, Venom's player and I, helped to get much of the current Red Fang documentation written and in place.
- She was a mundane ranger, though most PCs that interacted with her and didn't know her well probably thought otherwise.
- She owned, used, and had access to many magickal items, most of which I have not seen since.
- She saw it rain.
- She saw some very far and out of the way places, and had been to just about everywhere in the Known and out of it.
- She, with the help of another PC, turned a certain place in the Tablelands into a more lush and flowery place.
- She had interactions with Quick.
- She had interactions with templars and nobles in both the north and south, and a lot of it was friendly.
- She, by the time I stored her, was fluent in every language except tatlum, even halfling.
- She had lots of friendly, non-cannibalistic interactions with halflings.
- She was involved in more than a couple world changing plots, including some of the "End of Days" plots that were big then.
- She was a "sister" to the last PC of the Silt Winds tribe before the tribe was made non-playable because they had all died out.
- She was a "sister" to a certain human PC, as well, that had ties to the Plainsman.
- She fought in the Gith War along-side templars and legionaires from Tuluk.
- She saw all manner of things that shouldn't talk, talk.
- She was involved in a lot of things that I still hear being talked about IC and it's really neat.
- Playing her I did the only PKs that I have ever done in my entire Armageddon career, and it was only two.

Edit: - She also interacted with Prophet and much of the Salarri Expansion team.

I played Arad, a Salarri Expansion Division Assassin (during the good ol' days). He was eventually kicked out because he failed an assassination on someone that was important to Serilla, (Aja?). Eventually Tuluk took him as a Slave. They then had him poison a bunch of weapons, and spend a lot of time teaching new recruits how to fight. Every part of his body had a tattoo on it.

I also played Prophet the free-roaming slave Mul, who was also involved in a ton of stuff. He loved Elithan a butt load. He once walked right into Samos command tent, without escort, carrying weapons. It resulted in some funny, brief, non-violent interaction.

Prophet died to three gladiator muls in Allanak, and im pretty sure it's because I thought he had a shield equipped when he didn't. He almost took out the three attackers one-handing a pretty crappy club. Prophet went to Allanak to turn himself over, because his bondmate was killed and his entire existance was shaken by some 'other' stuff.

The fall out from this was pretty hilarious.  I remember being so furious that your bondmate died.  I paid her specifically to not die, that was HER JOB, to NOT DIE.

Also my favorite Prophet moment was after the whole Samos moment.  We took the long way home up the north road and were resting by the gulch.  It was just you me, and I think Valin.  And some half-elf comes wandering up and said something retarded like, "You guys sure are a far way from home!" and Prophet's response was something along the lines of "Get the fuck out of here before I tear off your arms and beat you to death with them." And Valin just casually responds "Probably a good idea to do what the mul asks."  I was slow to respond to that because I was laughing so hard.

I was with Templar Nelly when she had the muls accidentally kill you. You should have seen her face, she was so upset. :D The whole time, I was Waying Warlord Mallor to come down there and buy you. You played a great Mul.

Oh yeah.

With as much combat as he saw, Prophet never once went into a mul rage.

I am such a Dan fan. Prophet was really important to my PC, but I don't think he knew it.
I had a burglar who joined the Legion, because picks are expensive, and who knows better than a soldier how to avoid getting caught?
Being at a certain party and seeing a certain individual transformed her into a very loyal and committed soldier.

It was very frustrating to her that so many seemed unaffected and unchanged by what was truly a momntous event. But Prophet seemed to be one of the few who understood the significance of what was witnessed. As a result she felt strongly about him.

Ghardoan:A pitiful voice rises from the well below, "I've fallen and I can't get up..."

Bryn lost his mind at that party.

This was unfortunately for him very early in his life as a PC, too.
