Beyond the Known

What do you imagine exists beyond the Known World?  If you know ICly, don't say nothin'!  This thread is for fantasizing about what exciting adventures we'll never have, and the lands we'll never see.

I would like to think that there is an Aztec or Mayan themed civilization out there somewhere, as I think that would fit the Zalanthan idiom perfectly.

A modern or even more futuristic civilization then ours, that keeps us in our area so they can watch us like reality tv.

As you continued to progress beyond the known you will find a massive green hand sticking out of the dirt, and it is holding a torch. Next to it are a few strange spikes of the same material rising out at odd angles.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I dunno. Like admins room or something.

Nothing. I imagine there is nothing beyond our tiny part of the world and that we're the last bastion of civlization. Man, we're all fucked.

A dark-shelled scrab pinches at you, but you dodge out of the way.
A dark-shelled scrab brandishes its bone-handled, obsidian scimitar.
A dark-shelled scrab holds its bloodied wicked-edged, bone scimitar.

Snark aside, I like to imagine a large silt giant civilization out in the deepest reaches of the sea; bug infested mountains beyond the barrier range, kentu living in a sophisticated culture all their own past the shalindral, and ... ... I dunno what you'd find if you could go really far off the map's north end ... ... smurfs?

I always figured it was land beyond the Known was so poisoned by the original visit of the dragon that it was like toxic waste dump meets nuke after effects.

The funny little foreign man

I often hear the jingle to -Riunite on ice- when I read the estate name Reynolte, eve though there ain't no ice in Zalanthas.

I wish my friends were as nerdy as I was.   :'(

I love how fecking unreliable the commonly known map is.

I imagine, in my wildest fantasy, that the Dragon, who wouldn't have survived if they weren't ecologically aware of the drain of their defiling, lives in a select portion of the unknown world, a wasted place with nothing but stripped, slowly eroding smooth rock, compared to which our rocky wastelands and desert wastes would seem fertile by comparison. Even just being there would feel wrong to the average person and terrifying to those sensitive to magic. I dream.

Off the east edge, advanced civilization, where 'gickers are all powerful and metal is aplenty, off the west, beast filled wilderness of doom, up north, Muk has a garden he tends to,with flowers and such, and down south, Tuk has a garden he tends to, by hanging the bodies of his lovers and those who displease him in intricate patterns and shapes.

Now you're looking for the secret. But you won't find it because of course, you're not really looking. You don't really want to work it out. You want to be fooled.
