Ammending bad Habits

I actually think I won't be killing my newest charter off so quick. Figured that was news enough for an announcement.

Anyone else trying to get rid of bad Arm habits?

Playing too carefully.

I tend to have long-lived characters, because I tend to play them as cautious and at least semi-knowledgeable about the surrounding areas.

It'd be interesting to experiment some time, and see what kind of trouble I can make for my next character by playing her as just some dumb shit hick who doesn't know a ginka from a gortok, and goes off ginka-picking with a stranger who suggests it.

If you're going to intentionally try to get yourself PK'ed, be a sport and junk/bank all your coins before doing so, so some asshat doesn't profit from your silly experiment, heh.

Y'all just needed to employ the advanced technique of treating his PC like an NPC; one-sided conversations and so on, use him in emotes, whatever. If you don't need him to pay you or something, you're golden.

Or another solution: Maybe we could get the imms to code the talk command onto his PC? Possibly even "list".

Well, now I totally know who Bogre plays, good going, guys!

It's pretty bad when your idling is so bad that people actually complains about it ICly, hah.

I never really minded the idling.

Falling asleep at the keyboard.

>drop pants
You do not have that item.

Not logging out when there's nothing to do/nobody around and ending up dying in an attempt at doing something fun.

Getting sucked into a scene and staying up way too late.

Emoting way too much, with way too much detail, in an attempt to bring the world to life around myself and my companions... when everyone is idling.

Maybe... if I do less, with LESS detail, when I finally pop out that badass, detailed emote... someone will actually take notice!
After knocking back a mouthful of the contents of a full shot-glass, toking away on a rolled joint directly afterwards you say in desert-accented sirihish:
"They call me Tuber, and my son is Tuber-tot."

Most of my characters (the ones that are not stored) are members of the Suicide Club, which I'm not proud of at least. I suffer from the chronic restarter's syndrome, which means I always want to play the thing I'm not playing at the moment. I'm sick, help me.

Write up the entire concept and tuck it away in a folder on your computer.

Save them for an NPC call or your next character, when the current dies (of natural causes).

I have this really bad, as soon as I get 2 or 3 days into my slick talking merchant, I think of an awesome concept for a thief, then 2 days into him, think of one for a warrior and so on and so forth.

I'll try that. The worst part is when I realize how much fun the killed off char was and try to recreate him later, ending up with a pitiful copy. I would give anything (when I say anything, I don't really mean it) to have a chance to play one of the good ones again. I have almost 70 chars, and am slowly running out of ideas... Good thing I need to take a break from the game anyway.

lol, tell us your story friend, open up :) I feel you

I need to focus on not letting my roleplay go to pot as soon as it's an even semi-dangerous scene.  :-[
Someone says: I imagine the festivities have worn you thin... Well good. I plan on leading patrols over the next month, that would turn even your shriveled manhoods into sturdy poles of destruction.

I think I have the opposite problem of everyone else, I don't really enjoy writing or thinking of detailed character concepts and backgrounds, all of my
characters have very simple backgrounds, maybe five to eight lines top, but strangely enough, all of my characters also live to be in the 50+ days
of played time.

I think that's my problem, more often than not my backgrounds are very detailed and specific and I'll find myself not being able to do something IG that I as the player may want to because my character wouldn't, which leads to me thinking up another character that would fit for that situation. I don't know, maybe I'll start writing up less detailed backgrounds.

Let me think. I made a really long break after my third char was killed for talking to a Templar as if he was a mall security officer but let's say about a year or so now. Give or take a bit, I'm not sure.
