Ow...

I'm on character number 80. Started in 2004.

I more meant...I can't believe I've been playing for so long!
Child, child, if you come to this doomed house, what is to save you?

A voice whispers, "Read the tales upon the walls."

I'm pretty far up there, I'll have to check when I think about it later. Double-digits anyway.
Let's see...

Died to just about every npc animal I can think of...except maybe a tregil, jozhal, or rat.
Have fallen off just about everything...cliffs, holes, wells, buildings, mid-air, etc. ( I too have lost a whiran to falling off a cliff. There were  circumstances surrounding that which caused it...but I think it's too ic to discuss here.)
BBQ'd.
Starved. (Fell asleep in RL while resting my pc and woke up just seconds before death.)
Drunken typo deaths a few times.
Teleported into "bad places" and died. Many very interesting places...can't really reveal a few of them.
Suicides due to boredom and a lack of patience to wait for a store. (I'm ashamed of this really.)
Murdered. (It's Armageddon, that's just gonna happen. :) )
Poisons. I'm not 100% but I think I've lost a pc to just about every type of poison that can cause death.
Cut into pieces. Not by a wielded weapons either.
I'm positive there are a ton of other interesting ways I've lost pcs but I just can't think of them right now.

May the fap be with you, always. ;D

9 humans
4 elves of various sorts
1 dwarf

4 rangers
5 warriors
3 assassins
1 pickpocket
1 merchant

Yeah. Not so many considering I've been playing since 2003, but eh.
I tripped and Fale down my stairs. Drink milk and you'll grow Uaptal. I know this guy from the state of Tenneshi. This house will go up Borsail tomorrow. I gave my book to him Nenyuk it back again. I hired this guy golfing to Kadius around for a while.

I applied for an account. Made a character. Then didn't log in for a month. Then got back, logged in. Chose starting city, got overwhelmed, quickly logged out, spent two days reading any documentation I found.. Spent a few days having fun and then... <A year didn't pass, IC, but a very stupid and funny newbie mistake>

Applied second character. Rocked. Played for two weeks. Got my first karma. Real life got me. Couldn't even log in for 30-40 days. Disconnected mentally from the character. Retired.

This is my third. Not enough player interaction. Sorrily the role's fit for player interaction. I'm thinking of retiring the character and applying a more solo-suitable role, but only after I receive my second karma. I hope I get it soon.
Q  : Where do you piss?
Yam: On elves.
Q  : And if the area, lacks elves at the given time?
Yam: Scan.

Now we're tallying races too?

1 d-elf
4 half-elves
7 humans
1 demon vestric

Okay.

#1 was publicly executed for insolence. Human warrior.  :D
#2 - 8 all died to various NPCs for stupid things, in classic newbish fashion.  I think they were all humans. :-\
#9 was murdered by a PC while link-dead. Human warrior.  :(
#10 was kidnapped by a PC and incinerated. Human assassin/bard.   :o
#11 died in the 'rinth. Elf somethingorother/scavenger.
#12 suffered some PC death I don't remember - I think on the North Road. Human warrior.
#13 was a staff-assisted suicide. Gypsy assassin/con artist.  ???
#14 was eaten by a halfling. Human whiran.  ::)
#15 was stored. Southern noble.  :-X
#16 was also stored. Northern noble.  :-X
#17 ate silt. Human warrior.  :-[
#18 yet lives!  :-*

I don't think I'm even to 15 yet. Most of mine stay in the city and live forever.

1) Scrab(maybe lived 3 hours)
2) 50 day warrior Byn/Kadius, died to a death trap of a Naki camp in the North thanks to Halaster.
2) FALE!!!! Died to another noble.(~shakes her fist at that House~)
3) Another warrior, Byn/Kadius
4) I think I played a dwarf next, stored
5) Another warrior, Byn/Kadius
6) merchant maybe? Human def. Maybe worked for Nenyuk?
7) HG. Tenneshi. Had 5 babies at once. Stored
8) Another warrior, Byn/Kadius

Uh... I think there's more. I can't remember. That roder is probably off too... I've been playing since 2001... Though I took a break from 2004-DragonCon2008

I'm on my 4th in 4 months of playing, so I seem to average a month.

No.1 - Newbish death - human warrior
No.2 - Love you too, tarantulas - human ranger
No.3 - Gah. - human ranger - tired 4am typo'd death, she had great potential too (that'll teach me)
No.4 - Alive.

I don't think I'm doing too bad..

Okay, I'll be nice and let you get a head start. ;)

On #30... a lot of them, I can't remember. Most of the earlier ones were cats killed by curiosity. Two were stored. Some notable ones I can remember...

4) A 'rinther who died to a random 'rinth pc.
6) Kuraci Fist recruit, killed by a silt-horror during A Big Event.
15) A 'rinther, killed by another PC for a good reason IIRC.
16) Allanaki militiaman killed by a suicidal dwarf.
20) Tarantula who thought militia PC uniforms taste good.
23) Stored.
25) Starved to death during computer problems. -_-
26) Tarantulas.
27) Some crazy shit.
28) Stored.
29) Stupid mistake.
30) Still kickin'.

Playing since July 13, 2008.

1) Some sort of ranger.  Died within the first 3-5 hours, mainly after fleeing a scrab off the shield wall.
2) Current.

You go south and one of the other directions that isn't north.  That is seriously the limit of my geographical knowledge of Arm.
Sarge?

I only have about 25 or so appendages from which I can count... and its definitely more than that in the two years I've been playing.

Beginning as a code-based character, it was hard not to test my limits, and end up with death to scrab. Since then, I've learned a few tricks to keep alive, like don't walk until you have 20 stamina. Always have a mount. You know, the basics.

Masks are the Armageddon equivalent of Ed Hardy shirts.

Somewhere over thirty, thirty-one I think.

JaRoD

I do believe I'm on #15 since Sept 2000.

I'm currently playing #29.
1. Human burglar - shoplifting in the middle of the city, in front of a soldier.
2. Half-elf assassin - attacking a worker in the Tuluki fields.  With help from his newly made Rukkian friend. Yeah.
3. Human ranger - ran into the Tal-Zen tunnel.  35 times.
4. My most brilliant character concept ever - a Tuluki escaped slave adopted as a child by a former Tor scorpion who went to retirement in Tuluk.  Was so thrilled by stories about Allanak he just HAD to go there and join the Tor academy. They didn't want him, though. I forget how he died.
5. My famous Borsail aide.  Lirathan'd.
6. Human warrior Militia-wannabe.  Spider'd.
7. Human ranger.  Halfling'd.
.
.
9. 'Rinthi elf burglar. Thrown into the Arena for thievery, and managed to escape the Arena as the templar came into execute him personally.  Made it out to the street where he was captured by soldiers.  Stupid flee. :(
10. Human warrior Tor/Borsail guard. Kicked out of the academy for defiance, and turned to raiding.  Killed by his own Sergeant in the Arena.
11. Kadian Agent.  Made it from the Red Desert to Tuluk, on foot, wearing nothing but pants and boots, surviving an encounter with a hostile Elkran, only to return home and be apartment'd.
12. Tenneshi houseguard. Also killed by his own Sergeant, and his good-for-nothing dwarf companion.
14. Human Vivaduan.  Something stupid.
15. Human Vivaduan in Kadius. Beautifully Lirathan'd.
16. 'Rinthi elf Whiran. Thrown into the Arena with a couple of newbies and NPCs.  Played the PCs against each other -and- against the NPCs while running around the Arena, until he bargained safe passage out with a templar.  Silt sea'd.
17. Human Atrium Host.  Awesome fellow, eventually stored from massive burn-out.
18. A young human Krathi gemmer in Oash.  He had a really awesome death.
19. Drovian aide.  Nearly managed to escape after being found-out, but a sandstorm forced his escort to abandon him and the Templars caught up.  Pit of spikes'd.
20. Salarri Agent gone Junior Advisor.  Did something really really cool and got publicly executed for it.
22. Rogue human Drovian. Got killed by something that kills a lot of aspiring young magickers.
23. Kadius crafter. The people were good, but I wanted to explore some more.
26. 'Rinth human Nilazi.  Sacrificed a guy, once.  Got killed because of power struggles.
27. Stored after a month or so.
28. Same as above.
29. Alive and kicking.

Anonymous:  I don't get why magickers are so amazingly powerful in Arm.

Anonymous:  I mean... the concept of making one class completely dominating, and able to crush any other class after 5 days of power-playing, seems ridiculous to me.

#1 - human fire cleric, died to Tuluki soldiers (lesson learned: "easing the passage" of next-to-dead NPCS to the afterlife is still against the law)

(long break)

#2 - human fire elementalist, died to a Blackmoon mul on the North Road
#3 - human fire elementalist, died to a pair of newbie scammers that led him into the forest to hunt halflings
#4 - human fire elementalist, died to a Kuraci outrider north of Luir's
#5 - human fire elementalist, died to a Blackmoon mul on the North Road (this was just after the code change in which NPCs started rushing PCs in adjacent rooms)
#6 - human fire elementalist, died to a half-giant PC while idle in his temple during the siege of Allanak (I suspect the then-staff was involved, having decided I was purposefully letting him go hungry to improve the odds of failing castings and so increasing skills; truth was, I didn't know hunger had any effect on this)

(nuts to fire elementalists, never played one again)

#7 - half-elf ranger, died in a bar fight at Flint's against a mul arm-wrestler that pissed him off
#8 - human warrior, long-lived, died to a Allanaki templar, his half-giants, and his half-fire-elemental friend (they coordinated this OOCly, I later discovered)
#9 - human warrior, Kuraci, long-lived, retired in his prime

(long break)

#10 - human ranger, Red Storm native, died at the south gate of the village along with several soldiers, defending against a mekillot
#11 - human burglar/bard (actually more of a Kuraci merchant), pounced on by the staff and retired after I logged in with him after a few years of inactivity

(long break)

#12 - human ranger/tinker, Red Storm native and low-ranking Kuraci, retired
#13 - human vivaduan/jeweler, died to a rogue fire elementalist (come to think of it, I've never had a good experience with a fire elementalist)
#14 - half-elf drovian/tinker, tried to pass for human, didn't work, retired
#15 - dwarven warrior/physician, short lived, died confused in the silt
#16 - dwarven merchant/guard, actually was a fairly competent mercenary in the Byn for a while, split off to further pursue his focus but it turned into a grind so I retired him
#17 - human whiran/archer, died the Whiran Silt Death
#18 - human vivaduan/linguist, embroiled in a dispute with a fire elementalist (a blasted fire mage, again!), retired
#19 - human merchant/stoneworker, created with the intent of making a master stoneworker but an insulting incident in the Gaj (plus being the one character I've had with amazing stats) drove him to join the Byn to toughen up, died there in a fit of rage attacking another Bynner after being knocked out in sparring and having a piece of kalan fruit wedged up his butt as a "joke"

The last two are too recent.
Lunch makes me happy.
