Hey y'all,

Leaving out next Tuesday or so for basic training with the US Navy, just wanted to say thanks for this past couple years here on arm. I doubt even the military can keep me away forever,  but expecting at least 2 months before I'll be back amongst you awesome people.

Wish me luck, and for the love of all things good, do NOT open that chest.
<Morgenes> Dunno if it's ever been advertised, but we use Runequest as a lot of our inspiration, and that will be continued in Arm 2
<H&H> I can't take that seriously.
<Morgenes> sorry HnH, can't take what seriously?
<H&H>Oh, I read Runescape. Nevermin

Take care!

I resent that.

Good luck BuNutzCola, hope things turn out well for you. Be sure to get back to us as soon s you can!

You'll be missed.

But only 'til you're back. ;)
And I vanish into the dark
And rise above my station

Dude! Was good playing with you. Good fortune, keep safe, and we'll see you back soon.

I'm gonna go all Gimfalisette on you guys and lay down some numbers.

No....THANK YOU!

Seriously. Also to anyone else out there who is in the military or about to go to basic...I can't thank you enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Later, gator. Good luck on the high seas!

Hey - best of luck and we hope to see you back soon. Stay safe.

I'll be seeing you around Dia.  It's been a long, weird ride but I'm glad to have had a familiar person be around when I came to ARM.  Keep it real in the forces and come back as soon as you can.

My experience with bootcamp was this, it's easy once you admit it's funny. And it is, it's immersively intimidating, and overwhelming, but it can be a good time. You have to laugh at them. Just don't let them see you do it.

Good luck. You'll definitely be missed around here.

Armageddon is best when it's actually harsh and brutal, not when we're only pretending that it is.

Hint: corpsman may not be the safest MOS right now.
Though it might be the awesomest.

Take care, dude. Thanks for serving.

Who's going to be a corpsman?

That sucks.

Gotta go through Navy Recruit Training... Then the Marine Corps recruit training. I feel bad for them.

Arm is evil.  And I love it.  It's like the softest, cuddliest, happy smelling teddy bear in the world, except it is stuffed with meth needles that inject you everytime

Yeah, but Corpsman and SEALs are the only folks in the Navy Marines respect  ;D

I call bullshit. Marines mess with SEALs all the time (okay, only when seriously drunk, but when AREN'T Marines seriously drunk, huh?) and anyone in his right mind is deadly terrified of Navy corpsmen.

Damn ... you got me ... I'm seriously drunk right now ... and I'm a reformed Marine.

But yeah you're right, we used to talk shit about any SEAL that wasn't a "wet dog" (ie a Marine who entered the SEAL program) ... just ... you know ... not while they were in the room.

Are you going for the Silent Service, or will you be a surface squid?

Good luck. Sounds like a fun job, probably stressful too! Was in navy 5 years, initially  was training to be a nuke ET but then an IT.

I always had a blast playing with you babe. I wish you the BEST of luck in training and know you'll do great! Just remember, we can't wait to see you back. You'll be missed, and thanks, serviceman to serviceman for having the courage.
You know you've raised a nerd when your five year old answers the question "Do you know what gymnastics are?" with "Dungeons and Dragons?"

Good luck with the Navy and it was a lot of fun to play with you. Let us know how it goes. Stay safe and God bless!

Make sure not to MCB anyone out on port.

I still think the best closure you get in Armageddon is just moving on to the next character.

Had some memorable moments with you my man, Arm will be missing something without you around.

Hope everything goes well whatever path life takes you down and remember; "Don't panic."
