One idea I had was to put up fliers in the writing and acting departments of my college.  Might be a good idea for you other college students.  Sell it as 'the writer's game' or the 'actor's game'.

I've introduced four people to the MUD, all apart from one of whom are still complete twinks and n00bs after at least a year of playing.  :oops:
