Setting up a _GREAT_ character
« on: June 16, 2004, 11:25:50 PM »
Reading off another post I realized that not all people know how to set up "great" characters, the kind you spend a few hours designing, then send in to play...

Here's a few links (all from the same site cuz it's a good site for this kinda stuff) It's for writing stories and junk, but a lot of it can be read between lines to make sense on arm.

http://www.elfwood.com  ---The main site
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/farp/thewriting/crissychar/crissychar.html ---the major design tool
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/farp/thewriting/ihynnbad/ihynnbad.html ---stuff about evil-like people
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/farp/thewriting/plot/plot.html ---Stuff about plots and setting goals
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/farp/thewriting/sitsdecept/sitsdecept.html ---Sorta about writing descriptions
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/farp/thewriting/robdesdiaact/robdesdiaact.html ---A good thing to know when emoting and acting

I like the forms, thanks.

I especially like the question: "How would he/she spend a rainy day"... That's a good question.

Heheh. That question comes out completely different in the world of Armageddon.

Perhaps most chars would buy a lot of barrels, fill them all up, and protect them until it stops raining.

Well, then you'll have the chars that'll dance in the puddles.

Then you'll have the chars that drown. Heh.

Making a _great_ character? Heh no problem. Make a whiran/linguist dwarf with no arms and legs who likes to eat babies. Then succeed to stay alive for more than a few days without twinking. It'll be greater than even a buff warrior in shiny silver armor and mithril katanas, drinking in Gaj with no fear from anyone.
Hmm.. Sorry for derailment.

Yeah, I do like to parade around in my best.
musashi: It's also been argued that jesus was a fictional storybook character.

Just dug this up.. could it be archived? These links are very useful.
Will they tell your story in the end?
Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?
