tally marks
« on: January 25, 2020, 11:36:22 PM »
I wanted to double-check that something I remember from the distant past is still okay.  In this case that is okay for a merchant artisan to use tally marks (or hash marks as some call them) for counting in play?  I'm not playing as if I were literate in any way, so I wouldn't know how to write (for instance) a numeral 5.  I had a character in the northern Kadius employ some 8-ish years ago, and -think- I remember being told tally-marks are ok.  But things change with years anyway, so checking.
If procrastination  is really so easy, why aren't more people doing it yet?

I don't think there would be anything wrong with this.  Similar to using the merchant's rod.
