That happened to me once. We abandoned our village, and found a dead one not too far away. Then another dead one just past that. It's fairly easy to restart a village, if the farms are intact.

Sounds like the game needs a karma system.  Let that be your justice system.  Otherwise, what's the point of the death and rebirth?

The new tutorial, curse system for griefers, and playing with friends has greatly improved the experience of this game. Sadly my first experience with the friend system was having quadruplets when I already had one kid to feed. I managed to save one. They claimed to be traumatized by their dead siblings.
