Mdesc inspiration station

Share your favourite descs here! Seriously. I bet you have one or two you're proud of. You know the drill: old PCs only, staff feel free to lock this shit up if people post their current dude.

I am having trouble putting a description together for a future app and I need inspiration!

I guess I should post one to start it off.

I always enjoyed this dude's.

the stubbled, work-worn man
Somewhere in his twenties, this man carries on his hefty frame the obvious
signatures of a workman's life. He's young enough that he isn't entirely
callus and scar, but by the looks of him, he'll get there in a few years.
Choppy dark hair frames his face, the longest strands brushing his strong
and perpetually stubbled jaw. The sun has beaten a nice toasty tan into
his skin, his broad mouth only a shade darker. One of his keen grey eyes
bears a subtle squint courtesy of a well-healed scar across the brow.
And I vanish into the dark
And rise above my station

This man is small and sinewy, his bones stick out starkly under his darkly tanned, leathery skin. Knobby knees and elbows lend him a lanky appearance despite his short stature. Multiple scars cross his scrawny form, the more ghastly ones stand out against his dark complexion. His hands are wrapped in skin that appears to be primarily scar-tissue with calloused palms and long skinny fingers that cause them to appear nearly skeletal. Wide, rounded bright green eyes gaze out at the world from a severely featured face. High, sharp cheekbones flank a narrow crooked nose, set above a thin lipped buck-toothed mouth that gives him a somewhat feral appearance. He has a long, shaggy, mane that falls well past his shoulder blades and sweeps outwards in multiple directions with hard, spiked whorls. All the color has been baked out of his hair, leaving it the color of bleached bone.

This was the Mdesc for one of my most lived characters for when I decided to jump back in the game after months of not playing. It isn't really anything spectacular but it could be a lot worse:

This is a well-built human male who appears to be in his mid-fourties and
well past his prime. He stands at an above average height, with a muscular
lean build and broad shoulders. He appears to be in surprisingly good shape
for his age and looks strong with well-defined muscles stretching beneath
the skin. His skin is neither tanned nor pale, but more in between with a
natural fair white color. He has a clear complexion apart from the scars
decorating his rugged features, a fully bald head, and a long, thick,
unkempt beard whose gray color almost completely hides his once blond
hair, stretching all the way down to his chest. A scar decorates the man's
face down his forehead and across his right eye which has a de-saturated
blue color while his left eye is bright-blue. He has a define jawline, a
square facial structure, and a well-proportioned nose.
No shade and zero profit.

Though typically tall and limber, this young elf's rawboned frame speaks
of hard desert living, with lean, striated muscles and an androgynous
figure.  Sepia-toned skin shades to darker hues where it's been exposed to
the sun, the supple pliancy of youth already giving way to a weathered,
sand-beaten texture, especially about the hands and face.  That face is
narrow, lean, and fine-boned, almost skeletal in its lack of fat, and framed
by a shaggy tangle of reddish-blonde hair.  The tips of her long, pointed
ears jut through the haphazard locks, and a scattering of braids near her
forehead keep her hair out of her eyes.  Slanted and intense, those narrow
violet eyes are speckled with faint glimmers of gold, framed by sun-bleached
eyebrows that provide a pale contrast against the darkness of her skin.

Stunted in growth and ambiguous in gender, this waiflike youth looks like
it might grow up into a human female, if fed and watered properly.  Frayed
and lank strands of dirty-blonde hair straggle down to her shoulders when
not knotted back out of her fragile-looking face.  Wide, dark eyes are
deep-set and lend to the impression of wary, hunted prey, their whites
standing out in stark contrast to her dark and dirty complexion.

Some tattered remnants of pampered breeding still show in this hulking
mul's finely-honed physique, but the majority of his copper-hued skin is
scarred by a life clearly filled with violence and hardship.  None of these
scars look to hamper his capacity for brutality, an impression which is only
reinforced by the inhuman swell of his powerful muscles and the rough
calluses present on his oversized, thick-fingered hands.  This mul's slanted
eyes are a startling, perhaps disturbing shade of pale silver-grey, bright
against the swarthy shade of his complexion.  His lantern-jawed features
might have been attractive once, but a massive burn scar has destroyed the
left side of his face, twisting his thick lips into a permanent sneer.

I barely played these three but I always regretted not being able to reuse their descriptions.

If it were possible to ascertain the intelligence of a creature with a mere
glance, one might gaze upon this half-giant and see a dimness beyond the
normal lack of intellect of his racial peers. His head is tapered like
a thick, malformed candle held upside down, with a small, bald cranium and
a jaw, thick, the lower set of teeth underbitten to a comical degree.
Beady blue eyes stare out at the world dimly and dully, and bimbal green
limbs longer than those of his kin, have both finger and toenails bitten
down to the nubs.

Sinewy and sleek is this human female, with all the graces of a coalescing
youth born and brought up under the desert sun.  An ample puff of woolly,
frizzy black hair serves as a floppy shade for the fine, high boned features
of her deep brown face.  Slanted, glittering black eyes, a pug nose peppered
with freckles a shade darker than her skin, and an earthen colored mouth all
usher in a softness to her angular countenance.  The slim lines of her face
and upper body are dragged out into her long, supple limbs and digits,
giving her an unusual poise and gait.

I loved this line from yours, Delirium:

That's such a great description.

This one is also awesome.

These are great. I feel inspired already. And cheers, RGS. :]

On the topic of 'loved the desc, never played the character much':

the meaty, rough-hewn brunette
This solid specimen of a human woman has a build that would make most inix
jealous. Years of effort and above-average nutrition have honed her figure
into a muscle-packed hourglass, its cut-rock angles thankfully softened by
the generous padding that fills out her hips and chest. She's broad through
both shoulders and neck, with large, capable-looking hands. In spite of the
craggy construction of her frame, her face leans more toward feminine than
masculine: her nose is round and wide, and the lips below it are quirkily
full as if quick to smile or frown. Her eyes are deep-set, their shade like
polished beads of amber, hooded over by bushy eyebrows that are the same
shade of deep, faintly auburn brown as her wavy, shoulder-length hair.
And I vanish into the dark
And rise above my station

Very few people ever saw this dude in game, which is a shame because it was my favorite: the scarred, battered man.

This fellow looks like he charged headlong into life, and it shows
because life plainly pounded the living shit out of him.  His blocky,
sun-darkened face bears more than it's fair share of scars - nothing
spectacular or obviously debilitating, but a few more than he strictly
needs.  His nose has been broken at least three or four times, but it
doesn't seem to bother him overmuch.  His unevenly cropped black hair
looks as though it was inexpertly shorn with a cleaver, and equally
dark stubble shades his blunt, square jaw.

His background was even better, but this is just the description thread.

Like many on this list, this giant never amounted to much IG.  I think his background was that he survived a fall off the shield wall and a rock landed on his head or something like that.

Short Desc: the hideously deformed half-giant

Description:
His hideously deformed face is usually one of the first things noticed
when gazing upon this half-giant.  His face appears sunken in on one side,
as if something massive once caved in the side of his head but somehow he
survived.  His left eye socket is a vacant hole, somewhat grown-over with
time.  Only the right side of his mouth seems to work, the left side hanging
down, flapping in the wind at times.  His brow is forever furrowed in a
knotted position, making his expressions hard to gauge.  As you look down
from the monstrosity that is his face you see that the rest of his frame
looks healthy and quite fit.  His shoulders broad and sturdy lead down to
thickly muscled arms that end in well worn, roughly calloused hands.  His
torso is fairly trim for one of his kind, narrowing the most at his waist.
Large long legs provide him with a long stride when in motion and serve to
easily support his weight.

edit - Oh yeah! after rereading the bio I had added the keyword Muck to his list because after the accident that was one of the only clear words he could get out, so it became his name and the answer to most of life's questions.
The glowing Nessalin Nebula flickers eternally overhead.
This Angers The Shade of Nessalin.

This here is the best description I've made so far which I sadly wasted.

This hulking beast of a man could only be described as gargantuan. Towering
above the average human in height, this mans body swells threateningly with
muscle. Held up by broad, imposing shoulders, emerges bulky arms with
well-defined muscles stretching beneath the fairly pale skin, suggesting a
life spared the indignities of the flaring rays of Suk-Krath. His legs are
incredibly brawny which might look odd on a shorter person if not having
a matching physique to show for it. Decorating just about every area of
his skin are masses upon masses of scars, some worse than others that look
to have been induced mostly by blades rather than beasts, leaving only the
occasional claw or bite mark discernible between the various array of scars.
His nearly bald head sports a black close-shaven buzzcut that fits well
with his stubble apart from a minor thin like turn at the very front of his
hair which seems to have been replaced by a scar in the spot that doesn't
seem to be able to sprout hair. The mans eyes are rather insignificant,
brown and boring. He has a define jawline, a square facial structure, and
a nose that might once have been well-proportioned if not from the various
breaks it has sustained.
No shade and zero profit.

Short Desc: the clawed, razor-toothed mutant
The height, weight and overall mass of a dwarf, this short reptilian mutant
stands just a little over three and a half cords tall.  Blueish-grey
serpentine scales cover his massive, sinewy body, showing hints of iridescence
as they ripple with each breath.  Like strips of chitin armor, larger, thicker
bony scales cover the more delicate areas of his body; the back of his hands,
elbows, and lower back, around his neck, and across the front of his shins and
chest.  Long daggeresque claws erupt from what would be the first joint of
fingers, and from the ends of his wide, bootless feet, and grey, razor-sharp
teeth erupt from the lower jaw and out over his upper lip forming a permanent,
menacing grin.  His slanted black eyes are set halfway down the front of his
flat face with a flared up nose sitting between them, and a single
chitinous plate crests up from the base of his skull and extends out over his
eyes, shielding them from the harsh rays of Suk-Krath.

Shortly after he died, mutant was taken off the sdesc noun list. Sorry about that if it was my fault. ;)
