Harvest plant

How to harvest-gather plants? I tried numerous syntax, but failed to choose correct :(

Plants are strange.

You can "pick target plant," where target is the thing getting picked off the plant (e.g., pick leaf plant).  If you start to pick an imaginary lock, you got the target wrong.

Some plants also need to be broken open, but very rarely.  Syntax there is "break plant."

..I didn't know that was a thing.

I figured it would just be 'take 'something' 'plant'.
No shade and zero profit.

This is one of the few syntax areas I still constantly botch after years of playing this game (the other being rolling spice).

The other command that will help you is l/look as in 'l [plant/cactus/bush/etc]'.

Looking at the plant will usually tell you:

This is a description of a plant.  It looks planty.
There are three suitable leaves for picking on a something plant.

Final note: if you are talking about trees and/or lumber jacking, that's a whole different ballgame.  Try Help Skill Lumberjacking (especially the first part).
You know I think if James simply retitled his thread "Cheese" and apologized for his first post being off-topic, all problems would be solved.
