Does sparring a dummy really improve skills?

Cause it doesn't really seem like it.

I believe the previous answer given was only to the very basic levels of proficiency.  I'll see how my search-fu is doing today.

Ah well you should just kill those PCs. They're not worth the time of plotting creatively against.

Hrm. That's too bad. If only it would help up to Jman, it would definitely motivate.

No, that's bad because.... Uh... reasons and things. Can't have those clanned players getting anywhere near as decent as an indie I guess.

If you're a 'giker with novice weapon skills, poor agility and high wisdom, then maybe you can get to mid-apprentice tops.
"When I was a fighting man, the kettle-drums they beat;
The people scattered gold-dust before my horse's feet;
But now I am a great king, the people hound my track
With poison in my wine-cup, and daggers at my back."

Well, that's disappointing. Wouldn't explain all the extra sparring on the dummy. You'd at least expect SOME improvement.
