Introduction

Hello and welcome to the second phase of guild renovation. Today's update addresses the Allanaki Templar guild.

The workings of the templar guild have always been secretive. This post will attempt to address the changes that impact applying for a Templar and, where appropriate, why the changes were made.  It will not address all the changes made to the Templar guild.  More information is available to the players with Templar characters.

The basics - what has changed:

This is the public changes listed in brief. For detailed explanations read on.

  • The Templar guild skill list has been updated
  • Templar specific subguilds have been added
  • How one advances as a Templar has changed
  • These code changes are concurrent with IC events

In more detail - what each change means:

The Templar guild skill list has been updated

  • The skill list for the templar guild has been updated

The skill list for templars has been static for a number of years.  How Templars progress has changed and this required a change to the Templar guild skill list.

Templar specific subguilds have been added

  • Templar specific subguilds have been added
  • Templars will not utilize other subguilds

Subguilds specific to the Templar role have been added.  These subguilds will work in conjunction with the revamped main guild to create progression for Templar characters.

Players starting new Templar characters should be aware that normal and extended subguilds will no longer be utilized by Templars.  You will not be allowed to apply via special application for normal or extended subguilds with a Templar.

How one advances as a Templar has changed

  • Secret

We have done what we could to allow Templar characters to focus on driving plots, politics and fun instead of game mechanics.  We have put in place documentation meant to align the advancement of their character to these goals.

These code changes are concurrent with IC events

  • IC:  All newly trained Templars will serve a period of time without a Ministry
  • OOC:  Templars will be allowed to play in War, City and Trade Ministries

IC:
Change has rippled through the Templarate.  Previously a Templar entered service almost exclusively into the same Ministry as their sponsoring Red Robe.  In a rare case of solidarity, orders have been issued from the top of each Ministry creating a period of time during which newly trained Blue Robed Templars will strive to join a Ministry.  Any further information must be found out IG.

OOC:  Templars will be allowed to play in War, City and Trade Ministries, whereas before they were limited to the War Ministry.  Any benefits to doing this are documented for the appropriate folks.  These may or may not be what you think they are (City Ministry Templars don't get to go around building stuff) (Trade Ministry Templars don't get a shiny piece of metal for joining) (War Ministry Templars don't directly command the PC AoD Soldiers).
