Portland Sunday Get Togethers
« on: August 03, 2015, 12:55:27 PM »
I'm moving to Vancouver/Longview WA in Sept/Oct. I should have most Sundays free during the day. How do you guys feel about some nerd activities? I haven't played a pen and paper in ages. Let's be friends.
And then I sat there going "really? that was it? that's so stupid."

I still think the best closure you get in Armageddon is just moving on to the next character.

Well, I live in Redmond and I would be willing to make that drive every few months I suppose.

I live an hour and a half from Portland and wouldn't mind getting together once in a while. Gives me an excuse to see some friends in Portland more often.

I'll be in the area for the first week of September.

IsFriday - the bjj club you directed me to in Portland last year was pretty good. We should try to get a roll in!

I don't think I'll be there early September. :(

I really do need to get back into BJJ. It's been over a year.

What do you visit Portland for?

Ya buddy, there's no good reason to stop bjj... except for all the spine/joint issues, and potential eating disorder if you compete, but that's worth it!

Why do I visit Portland?
Well, my brother is a virtuous Canadian who married a Californian Tree Witch. This virtuous man became a virtuous lawyer in your corrupt and foreign land, and the Tree Witch bore him two sons and became a birth doula. Portland is a very suitable place for virtuous lawyers and tree witch birth doulas to rear up their young, so that's where they live. I try to visit once a year or so to four sound legal advice, receive my tree witch sister-in-law's blessing, and impart wisdom to my growing nephews.

That, and Portland is fucking awesome.

I'm dying right now with laughter.

Also, if I'm ever on the west coast, I'll hit y'all up.
Case: he's more likely to shoot up a mcdonalds for selling secret obama sauce on its big macs
Kismet: didn't see you in GQ homey

Hey so, I was planning on meeting up with some of you here.

http://www.ggportland.com

I stopped by here a few times with my brother. It's pretty cool. They have tons of tables for card or pen and paper. The have a good assortment of cards/tabletop books/game bundles. They serve alcohol in the back, too.

If you look at their schedule you'll see they have lots of events, too. Every time I went there, there was 15-30 people playing games in groups.
