Charms

Simple question: What are charms, what are they used for, and how do you use them?
I read somewhere about bards tying them to their instruments but that was a charmstring. So another question comes to mind: What is the difference, if any?

Charms are little adornments many of the citizens of Zalanthas wear around their wrists, ankles, in their hair or as a necklace. Much as in the real world, they usually serve only as 'lucky' objects, sentimental ones or purely decorative items. These are often ceramic, wooden or glass objects that are both small and appealing in design.

As for Charmstring, I have no experience with it, but it's got something to do with decorating a bard's tools of the trade.

Vennant doesn't appear to age because he serves drinks at the speed of light. Now you know why there's no delay on the buy code in the Gaj.

Oh, thanks. They're worn more in the North, right?

Generally, yeah. The ones in the north also tend to be much more ornate. Southern style is very... simple.

For charmstrings in the north:

Otherwise charms are just objects.. think of a lucky charm, a rabbits foot, etc.

Bardic charms in Tuluk are used by the bards of Poet's Circle to display their achievements. There are different kinds of charms for things like: amount of time as a bard, places the bard has gone to, instruments the bard has mastered, and so on. Bards can put these charms on instruments, which is their "charmstring".
