After reading the positive reviews from several people in this thread, I have been inspired to purchase Crusader Kings 2.

Downloading from Steam as I type this.

I beat XCOM on normal with 3/6 team members.  I decided to try Ironman Classic (as was my plan all along, move it up the ladder til I beat the game on Ironman Impossible).

Everyone dies in first mission.  Restart.
Everyone survives first mission.  Promotions.
Second mission starts.  Everyone dies.

Now...I'm no mathematician, but I think I can see the start of a pattern here.  This is going to take a while.
Paint on a mustache and be a dude for a day. Stuff some melons down my shirt, cinch up a corset and pass as a girl.

With appropriate roleplay of course.

I'm trying not to play Dishonored again to get the rest of the achievements... and not buy the Dunwall City Trials.
And there was some dwarf smoking spice, and I thought that was so scandalous because I'd only been playing in 'nak.

I've sat down and watched Skyrim load three nights in a row. My pal Ulfric is there and it's time to go a'plundering.

I just can't muster any enthusiasm, so I end up just staring at the character for about a minute and then killing it to listen to music. I want to play. Frolic around, kill important NPCs. Hunt out dragons before getting levelled up. Killing the bastards. I just.... don't.

Wish I had a PC that would run a decent game. But Victoria2 chews me up on my desktop. Laptop runs it much better even though I have shitty integrated graphics. Neither would run Shogun2TW. I doubt they'd even run ETW decently enough for me to suffer through.

Anyone have a suggestion for a 360 strategy game worth spending money on?

OK, I think I ought to give this Crusader Kings II thing a try.  Which DLC packs are worth getting?

Ruler Designer is a must have IMO.

Oh god I have no idea what I'm doing.  Started as Denmark... joined up with Norway in their conquest of England.  Decided to try and take back all of Holstein, which went OK until I pissed off the Holy Roman Empire and they squashed me with 10x as many troops as I had.

The "tutorial" for the game was abysmal.  I have no idea how to get significant amounts of money or what I'm actually supposed to be DOING aside from marrying off my swarm of children.

Crusader Kings 2 is not a strategy game in the sense that you need to go take over land and manage your armies well. It's a political dynasty simulator, but with more herpes and infidels. Make sure the children are married off well (or horribly), assassinate political rivals, kill your wife to remarry your sister, groom your eldest son to take over after you... Join crusades...

I like starting as a count.

Once, as a count in the Byzantine Empire or the HRE, forgot which, I decided my duke's land should be mine. But how to get it? The king won't listen and I can't go to war as a vassal. So I start by assassinating him. Then his heir. Then his heir's heir. Then I'm killing 3 year old girls, because that's all that's left. His great-great granddaughter is dead. Her sister. Her niece.

I have almost killed their entire dynasty, and it's the original duke's mother who is left leading the duchy.

So I'm like, well, fuck this bitch, let's kill her too.

Start an assassination plot against her, intrigue level is real high, just biding my time...

Then she dies of depression.

I WONDER WHY?

Edit:

I ended up marrying the Duke (a 1 year old boy) to my youngest daughter.

Then I became Catholic, somehow won the crusades, and became King of Jerusalem.

Deity is a very stylish stealthy demon game.  It's also free and very short.  I wish it wasn't very short.

Pick an Irish Count, any Irish Count.  Do what seems like a cool thing to do.

R.U.S.E. was a pretty fun game from what I remember, and Halo Wars is a very solid console RTS (though maybe not a solid Halo game). Not 100% sure if the multiplayer servers are still online though.
All the world will be your enemy. When they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you; digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed.

Yeah! What LC said. It was super cheap. Maybe I'll end up siphoning 20 bucks from this week's check for myself ... somehow. Ahaha.
