Dearest Susan,

Ive been thinking a lot about where I want to celebrate your birthday. The destination had to be not only special but also a new experience for us. This was not an easy choice because weve been to so many great places already.

Ive made a reservation for Friday at 1:30 PM. I know youll enjoy it and I hope you will be surprised.

I've noticed for the last many months that, out of the blue, I'll have an irresistible urge to play Mass Effect. Today, I realized why this happens: PMS. When I'm PMSing, my relative desire to slaughter geth spikes.

Best. Symptom. Ever.

I got like an hour of sleep last night. Woke up tired as a fly in the latrine. But.... I felt no fatigue. I was completely fine today. Even now. I feel like I should be tired, but I ain't.

Today, I went for a barefoot walk in a summer thunderstorm through the trees behind our house with my infant daughter.

My life is beautiful.

They're going to a really pretty french restaurant that overlooks the Hudson River. It's got a gorgeous menu too.
