Its pretty cool how they turned just about every episode into a lesson in some small way. Its quite genius.
Watch the 90's Batman series. Its an intelligent, well-crafted show.

Specifically, Which one is that?

Logan was a disappointment. Super duper cliché and predictable with about a bazillion plot holes... I had hoped for something different for once.  >:(

The fight scenes were cool tho.

If you like a good RomCom check out When We First Met on Netflix. Very solid. Funny, wholesome, and not entirely predictable.

Stop what you're doing and watch Altered Carbon.

Echoes of Deux Ex, Firefly and Westworld.
This.  This is like, HBO-quality shit.  I love everything about it.

In other news, I somehow always forget how fucking WEIRD the Winter Olympics are.  Like seriously, every four years people from all over the planet gather to perform some of the most bizarre stunts the human race has come up with.

Luge.  Ok, I get it, it's a giant slide, that seems fun.  What doesn't seem as fun is going down it on a tiny sled while wearing skin-tight suit that leaves your genitals on display for the whole planet.

Figure Skating.  Dancing is a fairly normal human activity, sure.  Doing it with metal blades attached to the bottom of your shoes so you can slide over ice?  Weird.  Also rather subjective scoring for a "sport".

Winter Biathalon.  Normally biathalon or triathalon is some sort of combination race.  Running, swimming, biking, etc.  Winter biathalon is skiing + rifle shooting.  Skiiing itself is a pretty strange activity.  I guess the biathalon simulates hunting in the winter, but it's still a weird combination.  Also, shooting seems to be the only activity in the winter Olympics that doesn't involve ice or snow.

Curling.  A solid contender for weirdest sport on the planet of any season.  The only other sport I know of that involves brooms is freaking Quiddich.  Curling is my very favorite Winter Olympic sport.  After over a decade watching it, though, I still don't understand the rules or strategy AT ALL.  I just like the frantic sweeping and subdued, cryptic excitement of the commentators.

Black Panther was pretty fucking good.

So many powerful women. And that self wig snatch toss was amazing.

I binged Altered Carbon. It was so good. Like a mix of Sherlock Holmes and Cyberpunk/Shadowrun esque style.

Thanks to everyone who recommended Altered Carbon, awesome stuff.

It seems like many of the best shows are based on books. The Expanse, Altered Carbon, the Handmaid's Tale...

You mean Black Mirror? You seriously didn't watch this until now?  :o

But yeah, the first episode of season 1 is... crass. The other episodes don't follow that pattern, but some (the best ones) are really freaking dark. It's called Black Mirror for a reason  ;)

Black Mirror, yes.  Been hearing good things for a while but just never got to it.  Maybe not the best choice for insomnia TV though.

I only like the uplifting episodes of that show.

It otherwise is so macabre. It makes me fucking cringe.

I adore Black Mirror, but would always recommend new viewers skip the first episode and come back to it later.

It did get a lot more humorous in hindsight though, especially since certain allegations about out erstwhile PM.

Hey, the first episode was what got me hooked as a new viewer... but then again I'm a terrible person.

I loved Black Mirror. The current thing the Hubs put on tonight was Altered Carbon. So far? Pretty enjoyable.

I've been watching this German show on netflix called "Babylon Berlin" and it's amazing, but there's one scene in particular that took my breath away, probably one of the best scenes I've seen on television in a long time:

The song is great, as well!

If you've seen the show then you know which scene I'm talking about :)

It's like David Bowie meets Rammstein meets Marilyn Manson in the 1920s  :o

It's a bit NSFW but it's also spoiler-free.

The Titan was a bad movie, but I liked the first 30 minutes of it. Sucked me in only to disappoint me. It had a lot of good ideas.

A good movie that should not be skipped though is Hostiles. Just finished that and it was great.

Dark is often compared to Stranger Things, but I like it a lot better. The characters are older, for one, and I feel it's more serious overall. It never gives me the impression that I'm watching a Spielberg flick for 10 year old kids.

It's a German show but I hear Americans love to watch it with subtitles. The dub supposedly isn't great.

A Quiet Place was excellent.

I'm not a big horror movie fan, but it was smart and had lots of heart.  Krasinski definitely has director/writer/producer chops.  Totally sold on his next movie.

The Terror. It's great. I'm on episode 8 out of 10. It's a dreary, cold, atmospheric show about two ships on the search for the Northwest Passage in 1850. Lots of people die, and there's a weird mystery horror aspect to the show.

Great acting, great sets.
