From ATS - how do special apps work

Special apps are not exclusively a matter of unlocking a class. Special apps can be a myriad of things. From playing a karma resctricted role, to playing a mundane role in a sponsored position, or a family member of certain clans, or a bastard child of a noble house. A special app could simply be a matter of having a specific tattoo placed in a specific wear-location as part of your character's physical attributes. A special app could be having the usual ranger, however, his background has lacking one arm, and therefore cannot use a bow or "hold" anything.

With the karma restricted skillset (such as krathi) that you don't have the karma for, yeah they'd simply "unlock" it after they've approved the request. And then you'd go into the chargen process and you'd see that krathi is now an option.

Anything else would need to be adjusted/tweaked/added in the game, -after- your character has been processed through chargen.

So it'd be:
send the request for the special app.

get the request approved.
log into chargen and go through the actual character generation process
get -that- approved through the usual channels
log into the game -as- your character, and have the staff do any necessary adjustments/additions/restrictions/subtractions
