Please put advice, criticisms and improvements to my article "Creating and Playing Complex Characters", if you have any, in this thread.

Yeah, this is nice.  I like your article.  I wish that more of our creative players would do neat stuff like this.

I'm impressed so far. Both in the quality, and that you've actually said you were going to do it, and then got to work. I look forewards to the rest.

Thank you everyone. I edited in the rest of it just now. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Actually, I'm surprised I did it too. I've been doing a lot of creative writing lately and figured it would be good exercise to try and do something a little different.

I liked this so much, I copied it to a text file in case it gets buried in the GDB, and quoted part of it in my signature.  Excellent work, Zoltan.

*blushes*

I'm going to leave it hanging for a few more days, maybe make a small change here and there, and then I'll submit it to the website. Thanks again, everyone.

I scanned over it again, and it's still looking great. One thing you might want to add (although you did touch briefly upon it) is the use of hemotes, (not to mention feels and thinks) to really develop your character. Maybe they have a nervous eye-twitch hemote that says when they're lying. Maybe the stoic PC has a tell for when a topic related to their secret is brought up. Is your PC attracted to X, but for whatever reason can't publicly show it? Hemote time. Thinks work great too, particularily for keeping track of your PC even if they might not be "actively interacting" with the scene.

Ah, that's a good idea. I'll revise to add some more on that stuff soon.

How?

Great article though. Wondering if you are still working on this.
