Since this helpfile ASCII map is out of date and there have been disparaging comments about the ASCII artwork I invite you all to try your own hands at mapping Tuluk.

Post them here as long as you don't reveal any specific locations that are not on the current map (it's ok to map the streets of Old Quarter for example, but not the location of the sekrit rave warehouse there).

If you want to argue to have something specific mapped and identified on the key that isn't currently, email me.

I found the roads confusing, so I delineated them with periods, and colons. If someone could add the tailor, and a waterseller or two, I think we'd have ourselves a winner.

Kind of. But it's pretty close. The road leading east out of OQ is a bit iffy, I'd change it to...

It's not 100% accurate compared to the game, but I don't think it should be.

I cleaned up the walls a smidge more, and removed the X (it was an artifact from the old map).  As to whether or not it's more clear, you be the judge:

I fixed it.  The Sanctuary Tavern's beside the road.  In your old map, it was one space away from the road.
Also filled in the "Mechants Square" section.  That firepit there is still part of the Merchant's area.

I added some 'Entrances' to the Tribal Market, and Poet's Circle - but that's questionable, and I don't know if I like -that- change.

The blocks of letters look kinda silly now.  Maybe we could change those into periods as well, and write the area's name in for Freil's, RSC, and Warrens? There's not enough room really to spell out Poet's Circle or Tribal Market.

(Just kidding.  Silly question since I've never tried this, but is it possible to double the scale?  It'd save on cramping issues... but I can't predict what would happen with the space on the client screen.  Well, actually, does the map have to be in ASCII?  Could we make the helpfile a weblink that they could paste into explorer to get to a prettier PDF?)

The only thing I have against the ASCII map, is the large open area to the east of the city.  If that was labeled with something, it would be fantastic.

I love the out-of-the-box idea of using empty space for roads instead of characters.  It really works for Tuluk's layout.

I prefer the other map, with the dots for roads and simpler walls.
Clans can give stat bonuses and penalties, too. The Byn drop in wisdom is particularly notorious.

It is spelled Ghaati, not Ghatti as some seem to think. Or did you mean something else?

The current map of Tuluk in game misspells it and so do most of the IG messages on rumour boards involving the teahouse.   This has long bothered me, hence my sig which I made about six months ago.

Use both!

They are both good in their own ways. I like the empty space for the roads, it makes everything a lot clearer, but ere are parts of it that don't look quite right (around the sanctuary, can't figure out whats road and what's space between roads).

Would love to see an Ourla stylised map as well!
