Yes, please pursue matters like this directly through your clan-staff, not on the boards.  Orchestrating blood-ties with commoner relatives is okay.  Orchestrating life-long allegiances with clans without that clan's staff involved (and therefore doing the orchestrating) is across the line (though not as far across as some here seem to think, fwiw).

For clarity:
Nobles need to do recruiting IC or contact their clan staff to take care of clan-specific sponsored roles, not assign the task to a player, as Xygax said. 
This applies to some other clan roles as well:  GMH family members, slaves for any House, militia, or the Byn.
