Yeah man, that is some good stuff. Clean beats and rhymes you can play around your kid, and they play the damned violin. Creative fellows. Other rappers/singers are going to have to take a hunt.

I <3 these guys, been listening to them for a few years.

If you like them check out as well.

Black Violin is good too. Thanks for the link. I think BV is more technically correct than NBS, but NBS is more original and more spirited. I'd have to go with NPS over BV in a shootout, but they both have a place in my playlist ... heh.

I was going to mention that NBS has an album out called Struggle from the Subway to the Charts. And it's really good.

They're both good! I just enjoy NBS a bit more in terms of how they do play and it's more upbeat. But that said, I liked them both, very talented artists.

Well...Bond has been doing basically the same thing for years, but their beats are a little more techno than hip-hop, which is understandable given that they're European.

The Walkmen - On The Water

You sort of have to watch/listen to the whole thing.
It's fucking amazing, imho

It wouldn't be nearly as good without the video though.

Quem pastores laudavere,
quibus angeli dixere,
“Absit vobis jam timere,”
natus est Rex gloriae.

    Exultemus cum Maria
    in coelesti hiearchia,
    natum promat voce pia
    dulci cum melodia.
The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong.
The heart is bold that looks on gold;
The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong.

I love this CD.

Code: [Select]
Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.

    Gabriel of high degree,
    He came down from Trinity,
    From Nazareth to Galilee.
        Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.

    I met a maiden in a place,
I kneeled down afore her face
And said, "Hail Mary, full of grace!"
        Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.

When the maiden heard tell of this
She was full sore abashed y-wis
And weened that she had done amiss.
        Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.

Then said the Angel, "Dread not thou,
For ye be conceived with great virtue,
Whose name shall be called Jesu".
        Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.

"It is not yet six weeks agone
    Sin Elizabeth conceived John
    As it was prophesied beforn."
        Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.

    Then said the maiden, "Verily,
I am your servant right truly,
    Ecce, ancilla Domini!"
        Nova, nova.
Nova, nova, Ave fit ex Eva.
The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong.
The heart is bold that looks on gold;
The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong.

"Gangster Trippin'" by Fatboy Slim.

This whole album (You've Come a Long Way, Baby) is one of the few I never leave home without.
And I vanish into the dark
And rise above my station

by Say Anything.  Because it's such a cool tragic love song.  And tragic love is totally Armageddon.

(P.S. I linked the words-only version of it, because I think the music video is dumb and ruins WWII mental imagery I get whenever I listen to it.)

Miranda - Laberynth
Even has a middle eastern viv on into the song.

I can so see a Guild v. Sandas throw down to this... fireballs and walls of sand included.
