The new version of Dwarf Fortress just refuses to give me Bituminous Coal OR caravans. What the fuck? I've had five different fortresses without BC or lignite and, after I accepted this and just went with Charcoal, I couldn't get a caravan to save my life.

I have to find a way to migrate all AutoCAD staff from 2008 to the brand new 2011 Civil 3D WITHOUT ANY EXPERIENCE with AutoCAD.  :'(

What a nightmarish next few weeks this is going to be..

I can never wake up when I want to.

I set the alarm to wake me up nine hours after I lay down.

Usually after an hour, I'm asleep-- eight hours, right?

When the alarm goes off, after a full eight hours of sleep, my body goes autopilot and unplugs the clock (even popped the batteries out a couple of times) before laying back down and going back to sleep.

So annoying. :/

I hate naps.  They always make me feel like shit.  Give me a full 8 hours and I will be the happiest person.  I love sleeping.

... This makes me wonder if you do interviews in a bathing suit.

I'm dispirited.  I can't find the ol' "Adventures of BaoBob" comics anywhere online anymore.  Not even in the dusty archives of the ancient interwebs.

They're bad if they last between 45 and 90 minutes.  You're very likely to wake up in the middle of delta wave sleep, which leaves you feeling REALLY groggy.

I heard 40-60 is the best, actually. :/

You may have heard that, but someone was wrong when they told you so.  No more than 30 minutes.

My favorite naps last for about an hour.
There's something about feeling out of my element that I like. It's probably the challange being disoriented presents. Because then I have to stumble over to the fridge and then when I get something to drink... I have to drink slowly or all that sticky saliva is going to make me choke. And that sucks...

2 hours is OK, but you wouldn't want to go much longer.

It's about sleep cycles.  Your brain goes through several phases in a cyclical pattern while you sleep.  You want to avoid interrupting the delta wave (deep sleep) phase, which starts about halfway through the cycle.

Sleep cycles last about 90 minutes, though they shorten as you get continuous rest.

So....
0-45 minutes - OK, as you wake up before hitting deep sleep
45-90 minutes - bad, interrupting deep sleep
90-120 minutes - pretty good, you got in a whole sleep cycle
120+ minutes - probably bad, either you're waking up in your 2nd delta wave phase or you've pretty much fallen asleep for a night's rest (and thus it's not a "nap")

I cheated in a test today :(

Well, not really cheated, just more like an exploit. Technically, I did everything by the rules. Not my fault that they gave exactly the same questions as they did exactly a year ago, right down to the same answers.
Clans can give stat bonuses and penalties, too. The Byn drop in wisdom is particularly notorious.
