It probably is something to do with the browser or even just the default security on the phones themself. Though, the change occured awhile back when  we got the flashing vote icons, it was coded to display the rank # or something I read. But ever since its been a touch screwy.

Apparently the only thing holding my old truck's front dash trim panel on was magick, because as soon as I touched it to find where the first clip was, it disintegrated like it was an ancient Egyptian curse.

Went the whole year without being affected by my allergies or a serious sickness.

Racked up the leaves in my front and back yard and breathed in a good amount of dust and what smells like leaf mold.

I've been popping allergy meds, pain relief and flu medication every four hours to even be conscious, nevermind feeling like I'm alive, for the past three days.

Jesus Christ Verizon.... how the fuck do you have my wifi password available on your web portal IN PLAIN TEXT?!?!?!

Any why am I paying almost 3 times as much as you'd be charging a new customer???  I think I need to have a little chat with these bastards...

In the meantime, I’m currently being lambasted as a communist/socialist/fascist/libtard for suggesting my city offer an alternative to Verizon monopoly by laying a fiber grid and providing a broadband service similar to what has been implemented in other near by cities to great success.

Sounds gloriously socialist to me! Give the people what they want: broadband access without being gouged and jerked around by a company all in order to pay the CEO $18,000,000 per year.

I'm not available for a clan RPT this week because "I have to prepare for a weekend-long conference upstate."

When I started playing Armageddon, that's like... not a sentence I ever thought I would type.

I feel boring and old.

I feel boring and old.

Tis the general consequence of responsibility.

When you feel boring and old and don't have responsibilities...then you need to worry.

State calls.
20minutes on the phone.
Basically, use a different "type" indicator on the report, for our purposes.
Oh also, this ENTIRE GROUP OF TRANSACTIONS IS WRONG AND WE SHOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE GO FIX THEM.
Tell Boss.
Boss laughs.

At least nobody thinks I'm an idiot.

4th call to AT&T over some schmuck sending his bill to my office. This time I'm like livid and refuse to be hung up on after the first bitch sends me to another customer service rep instead of a supervisor. Two more reps, progressively see you next tuesday-y ShaL and FINALLY get a supervisor - - - to tell me I need to snail MAIL AT&T because she's not authorized to call him and get his actual address to change it. An hour and a half on the phone.

I wanna murder someone.

At least you're calling to get it fixed. I'd just shred them and let him suffer the consequences of not paying his damn bill.

If he's a customer... and she... but she can't call him? Why do YOU have to snail mail them the change of address if you're not even on the account?

So the guy responsible for getting me laid a few years ago off from a job I really loved was dialed in to my usually Tuesday telecon.  Hearing his name come up gave me a little twitch, but he didn't actually have anything to say and I got through everything professionally like I always do.  It ended and went on with my work happy in the knowledge I wouldn't have to think about any of those people again for about a week (until next Tuesday).

Fast forward to last night and that asshole shows up in my fucking dreams.  I'm back working in an office doing well on some project when he comes and outright threatens me physically (something I should note he never came close to IRL, he was of a smug, one-upper, passive-aggressive kind of jerk).  I wasn't intimidated in the dream I was delighted because I knew he'd crossed a line and the manager above him would take care of him.  Even better, a coworker reported the incident to the manager even before I could.  She comes in and takes him to a back room for a talk, while everyone else is gathered in a conference area.  They come out, manager calls everyone to start the meeting, but I look over and asshole has a smug grin on his face.

It's happening again.  I did nothing wrong.  I did an exemplary job, in fact, but he's still going to take it all away from me.  How can this happen?  What's wrong with this world?

I wake up and my heart is pounding.  I feel flush from a little squirt of adrenaline.  I get up and take a shower.  I guess, despite the fact that I've found my way back to that project in some capacity, I'm not over it.

I guess may also tie in to a more general anxiety over whether or not we live in a merit-based society.  I guess I was raised with a belief that if you're a kind and polite person who does good work, you'll be rewarded or at least not accosted.  I did good work at my old job and I was a professional, but instead, due to the greed and ego of superiors, I was punished.

Even worse, every day I'm bombarded by news stories about the awful things going on in politics.  We have a president and seemingly 90% of his political party devoid of kindness.  Their politeness is spread so thin it's transparent.  Reason is completely out the window.  They inflame their base with this hatred and cruelty.  Teach them to demonize the "others".  Tell them to disregard all facts and logic.  And for all this they were rewarded with great power in our government, with those who still believe in kindness, manners, and reason on the sidelines or outright trampled upon.

I try to tell myself it's just temporary.  This, too, shall pass.  But the evidence that this is not a merit-based society is mounting higher and higher.

Also evidence that I need more god damned sleep is mounting higher and higher.  Thank you for reading my ramblings.

Our society has never been merit based. We've been fooling ourselves. Once upon a time even I used to think that our society is merit based.  The "election" of Trump and the subsequent public antics from the Party of Trump are making it harder and harder for more and more people to keep believing the illusion. The cracks are visible and the system will have to change or be replaced, which is good IMO because a better world is possible!

My complaint is that things will get worse before they get better.

Whoever designed the rear brakes on my vehicle must've done it with the specific intent to make it as difficult as possible to DIY.

Skinny 17mm wrench.

Single-use Torx bolts that you have to reorder from the manufacturer if removed.

10mm bolt with a bracket in the way that requires a deep socket...but there's not enough clearance for the 10mm deep socket I have, so you need a Goldilocks 10mm socket, or you have to remove it with the tiniest of tiny 10mm wrenches, 1/12 of a turn at a time.

And I hope you found an excerpt from a manual online somewhere, because if you started this without finagling with the appropriate menu settings through the nav screen, you'll damage the caliper.

What a joke.
