Well. My brother and his girlfriend, who professed her love for me, broke up last night. This has potential to get messed up.

And my mom, a 75 year old woman, decided to pick up ice skating. She fell and broke her shoulder. Keeps getting nausea and dizzy spells. But she did get up!

Plenty of women in the world, man, but you only have 1 brother.

Oh, she told me over a year ago and I let her know then that it could never be, even if they broke up.  I wouldn't see my brother's girlfriend or ex-girlfriend.  That's why I say messed up instead of fun, is if she has it in her head that I wasn't willing to stick to my guns on that.  She can be the controlling type, so not getting it might...make her do weird things.

If she's that messed up, your brother is getting off light by having her exit stage left in his life. Any weird shit she does is on her, not you or him.

Today, I appear to be losing the weeks long battles to open Skyrim/Steam.  :'(
Reinstalling the game has lost me a live Skyrim icon I could sometimes push to make it sometimes Go. Gods only knows how I managed to -get- to my account today.
Back to Morrowind.

1st world problems, hey, I know.

Food poisoning.

I feel you.  I've been suffering through it since Thursday, too.

I have this love/hate relationship with change. Put in my letter of resignation - to take effect in mid March, now I gotta start packing and looking elsewhere for work while also looking into the specifics of what I need to study school.

Jesus christ. Magazine-based weaponry just doesn't have any place in civilian society.

So... all guns save for single shots and revolvers?

Bolt action rifles, pistols, shotguns all utilize magazines.

What.

Revolvers are, hands down, the coolest class of firearm.

Revolvers actually have one distinct advantage over semi-auto handguns in close-quarters. If your assailant was right up against you, or on top of you, and your muzzle is pressed against them, it will still fire. Semi-auto handguns, if pressed against the target in such a way that the slide is moved back even a few millimeters, will not fire.

The more you know.

Speaking out in a time of somewhat emotional passion.

I personally feel that assault weaponry and weapons that require magazines should either be severely limited/restricted to untrained citizens.

Pump action shot-guns, pistols, and bolt action rifles are fine. Those weren't meant to end life so much as to maim/defend one's self. An assault rifle, though, is only good for one thing - And that's killing people, quickly.

I understand your emotional turmoil. No worries.

That being said, you just singled out nearly all weapons - again - for restriction.

All handguns save for revolvers and single-shots utilize magazines.
All rifles save for single-shots utilize magazines.
Every pump-action shotgun in existence utilizes a magazine.

If you mean to say: "Ban all firearms save for single-shots and revolvers," you should say it.

Your contention that "AsSaUlT wEaPoNs" are particularly deadly, and have only one purpose, while pistols, shotguns, bolt-action rifles "were not meant to end life" is ridiculous. The Virginia Tech shooter killed 30-something people, and wounded more, with a pair of pistols.

I should've probably fore-worded this with my ignorance of the internal design of firearms.

If a weapon requires this to be loaded:

It should be severely restricted/banned, in my opinion. Fighting to keep weapons of rapid death-dealing capacity within easy access of civilians is... Part of the reason we're seeing higher fatalities in shooter situations. While you still do make a good counter-point by referencing the Virginia Tech shooter being able to inflict an equal amount of harm via pistols, it doesn't mean there shouldn't be more restrictions of the aforementioned clip-based automatic weapons.

And, lastly, please avoid being petty. I'm largely putting out an idle complaint but more than willing to accept counter-point conversations - Right until you start throwing out meme phrases, like a mentally underdeveloped teenager.

Lol. Sorry for being silly with the word "Assault Weapons."  Its just a silly buzz-word that really means nothing. I took more issue with the word itself than you using it. Sorry if I offended.

Okay, lets tackle this issue together. Weapons that require box-magazines include: many shotguns, all semi-auto pistols, many semi-automatic rifles.

An AR-15/AK47/Other spooky guns do not use clips.
This is a clip.

Next, automatic weapons are already HIGHLY restricted to people with a class-3 firearms license+tax stamp.

The weapons to which you are referring are semi-automatic, which means you have to pull the trigger each time you want to fire a round. Squeezing the trigger and holding it results in only 1 round being fired.

So, we know that pistols can be just as effective killing tools as semi-automatic rifles. We also know that the vast majority (upper 90%) of gun-deaths in America are caused by pistols, not rifles.

So what is your issue with semi-automatic rifles?
