I got to attend a demo of the new version of the software that I used to work on (as in, software architect and lead engineer) two years ago.

My anger at the people who stole the project from my team is reignited.  They have the gall to call it a "2.0" release for adding just a handful of minor bells and whistles, most of which weren't even demonstrated, while having degraded or broken almost all the core functionality and mangling the user interface.

Even my solace in the fact that soon I'm taking back the project is tainted by how much of a freaking mess it is. If I could get ahold of the source for the last stable version my team put out I could probably repackage it as 3.0 and be praised for the upgrade.

I'm being let go from my job because they made my position redundant and put me in a mall knowing I've got social anxiety and can't handle crowds.

That doesn't stop them from making me work on the Saturday, and telling me they want me to do it on a Friday afternoon (after telling me to submit my timesheet for the week).

Wait, they let you go and then asked you to cover a shift?  I'm pretty sure there's only one appropriate response to that.

Had to take down an old, derelict shed. As we took it down we discovered the entire interior left side was covered in a goey yellow mold that almost seemed to glow.

Reminded me of the croach from codex alera.

I am not sleeping well tonight.

Sounds like an aspergillus. Aside from looking like something spooky (a croach?), so long as you have a healthy immune system, you should be fine.

When you slept like shit and all of a sudden it's 6:30 in the morning and light out so you can't even snag that last 30 minutes of sleep.

The website our state uses to track particular requests is so outdated (almost 15 years) and the version of Crystal that it uses is so old that it just... never... works.

Even the security is awful. If you log out, and then just hit the back button, it logs you back in, because it just picks up on the same session.

JUST LET ME VIEW THE ONE PAGE YOU SAY I NEED FOR THIS REPORT.

Ender and I both got sick simultaneously on friday and we've been in a sniffly fog all weekend.

But the real question for when this happens is: who takes care of who??

Whoever has the most energy at the moment to fight the miasma of mucus and misery?

Yeah but momentum at the moment is kind of redundant, Nauta, just sayin'.  I've got my eye on you.

Today has been quite annoying. 5am start, walked to work, was alone at work all day, had to walk  in the rain home which is a 30 min walk from the bus stop.

On the plus side, my silverside roast has turned into a hard, jerky like substance in the fridge. I like that.

I've been feeling tingly and dizzy and weak and short of breath for the last several days but I'm not stuffy or sniffly any more. Can't tell if still sick, hypoglycemic, hyperglycemic, or something else entirely, but this is getting very unnerving.

4 inches of standing water, and the main route to get home is closed due to fallen trees and limbs.

I drive a Yaris.

Goodbye, sweet world.

Lost power last night after a microburst hit our area. Went out for 6 hours, didn't come back until almost 930pm. Didn't get a chance to do the homework that was due. I'll do it in the morning.

Come into work; Comcast is having a conniption, and we don't have external access (but the wireless is fine). Can't do that homework.

Gonna get home tonight? Probably not do the homework :(

Try looking for a fast food or coffee chain that has power+internet?

Unfortunately, I don't really own a laptop. Otherwise I guess Portsmouth and Somersworth have power.

When I get home, its just going to be a struggle of "its Friday no more work'
