Gypsies Wanted

Started by Zendri, August 24, 2007, 10:31:50 PM

The gypsies of Zalanthas are looking for a few good players!  The clan has a long and colorful history, with active clan leadership and a potential for a variety of different roles.  While there are some similarities to the Romany/Ravenloft archetypes, the Tan Muark are by no means simply a traveling band of entertainers and thieves, but hold their own lands near Luirs' Outpost, won through struggle and labor.  They are best described as a tight knit family of fun-loving, hot blooded, adventurous souls, not trusting outsiders, but more than willing to take their obsidian by whatever means possible.

Although there are a wide variety of roles available to incoming gypsies, we're actively looking to fill a few combat-oriented roles, so players looking to play a soldier/hunter-type PC are preferred.

Players are welcome to contact me for any specifics of the available roles, information about the clan, or for assistance with the approval process or developing a Tan Muark character.

To apply to the Tan Muark, please contact the gypsy staff: gypsies@armageddon.org or tan_muark@armageddon.org
If you have problems contacting the staff via the clan email address, please contact the staff directly: adhira@armageddon.org and savak@armageddon.org and  CC mud@ginka.armageddon.org

Just so folks know, I have sent multiple emails to the tan_muark@armageddon.org address over the past month, and have yet to receive a reply... Perhaps the email forwarding is broken?

Thanks for the head's up, psionic fungus; several players in the clan were having problems getting that email address to work immediately following ginka's downtime, but I'm under the impression that the problem has been fixed.  I use that address frequently and haven't had any troubles.

Edited the original post, regardless.

Just to add to Zendri's post - Please make the subject line of your email clear. ie Tan Muark application. I get a ton of spam and if the subject line is not specific it runs the risk of getting deleted.

Psionic fungus - we currently have no apps in that I know of. However I have been on leave from the mud over the past month, it may have got lost in the spam. Please resend any requests through to the TM imms.

Bumping because the Muark could use some new players last I was told.

I still think the best closure you get in Armageddon is just moving on to the next character.

Travel the world, drink brandy, meet interesting people and swindle them.

Or not, since we're not ALL like that. Just don't tell anyone, we've got a reputation to maintain.

The gypsies are still looking for a few (mundane, baby!) good vict-- players.

I had a gypsy years ago and had a blast...almost driving a fellow gypsy to wanting to kill me for my mocking songs of him.

I think it is only fair to point out to people pondering becoming a Tan Muark that they have water slides and use hax regularly.

How do you think they got the water slides?

'Never trust a gypsy' is right up there with 'Never trust an elf' in my thick, jade-emblazoned book.

You win Armageddon, congratulations!  Type 'credits', then store your character and make a new one

Edited into oblivion.

The TM have some of the best role players in the game and if you're tired of your clannies dying? They all tend to stick around for the long haul.

This clan used to be invite only, which I think a lot of newer players might not know.

It's great for people who love family-style interaction alongside some good old-fashioned hunting and stealing infants to sell on the slave market.

Go with the TM and Get Your Con On!

Do you kill your sparring partners once they are useless to you, so that you are king?

I'll have you guys know that you are all excellent advertisers and now I really want to play a gypsy.

I'm a relatively new player to the Gypsies, but it's by far the best experience I've had on Arm so far. I'm not sure if the tribe is still open to recruiting, but if you're between characters, give the Tan Muark a try. We're very active!

Give us more blood!

Gypsies - because you're worth it.

I've only played one Gypsie, and the experience was really good.  Role-play, Coded-waterslides, and the history of TM adds diminsion to the player's understanding of the game world.  I wish all clans were as fleshed out as this one.  Players in the clan can see the years of work players have put into this hidden treasure!

If you're a not-quite-veteran player, here are two answers to what must be common unsung questions:

1. Yes, there are many ways to interact with other non-gypsies. No, you will not always be forced to solo RP.

2. Don't be afraid to apply because you don't think you've played long enough or have enough kudos/karma/whatever. Nyr isn't nearly as mean as he smells.

It's definitely one of the more interesting clans I've been in and seems especially good for getting over the death of a beloved character.

I heard they even have an Xbox 360 in the gypsy lands, now :(
"When I was a fighting man, the kettle-drums they beat;
The people scattered gold-dust before my horse's feet;
But now I am a great king, the people hound my track
With poison in my wine-cup, and daggers at my back."

Actually, Malken, that's a myth, but it stems partially from the truth.

Tan Muark players were given Xboxes for Christmas this year and all expenses paid Carribean cruises.

Did you just die in the RPT?

Yeah. You know you want to.

You gotta be careful, I hear the helicopters and the IC/OOC nazi's are coming to capture you.

Since they lack so many other juicy targets on the GDB?

On topic:  We're severely limiting any new Tan Muark applications allowed through right now.

With appropriate roleplay of course.

Play Tan Muark. You know you want to.
