A warparty led by Allanaki blue-robe templars, including soldiers of
House Tor and gemmed from House Oash, makes a foray into the
Tablelands, striking for an oasis.  What they mave have found there is
not commonly known, but some claim this warparty must have found or
inadvertently set off some kind of magickal trigger, disturbing an
ancient dormant energy.

The warparty does not stay long before turning back for Allanak, but
within hours of the warparty's return, the earth begins to rumble.
The quake is felt throughout the entire Known.  Large swaths of the
North Road between Allanak and Luir's crumble off the Shield Wall; the
cliffs which border the North Road between Luir's and Tuluk collapse
and cover it.

Amid the chaos generated by the quakes, fantastical accounts of
magickal creatures of stone somehow passing the gates and pressing
into the streets of Luir's and Allanak are given -- these creatures
destroy and overtake portions of the settlements, but are
painstakingly beaten back.

There is a year of uneasy peace as scribes and sages try to determine
what exactly happened.  There is much hope that the worst has passed.
But, a mere year later, a massive aftershock rips across the Known,
once again felt everywhere and by everyone.  But this time is
different: a large shape crosses the sky and seems to settle over
Suk-Krath, bringing complete darkness to the world. In the darkness,
moisture falls from the air, and for a brief time, rain comes to the
Known.

The rain is no miracle; repeated waves of murky water crash in from
west of the Scaien Gates in Tuluk, leaving thousands dead amid the
flooding; looting and crime runs rampant.

In and around Luir's, creatures of stone cause death and destruction
while fierce, tearing winds kick up.  A volcano rises southwest of
Allanak, obliterating critical farming villages and nearby
encampments.  Fire elementals move into the streets, scorching
everything in their path; there are scattered rumors of some of
Allanak's gemmed trying to stop the onslaught, but they are attacked
and lynched by rioters, while the nobility remain huddled in relative
safety -- some say powerlessly.

At the end of the full week of darkness, the shadow lifts from
Suk-Krath to take its own place in the sky as a black moon which
reflects very little light.  It is the subject of much study and
speculation and viewed as an omen of bad luck the world over.

I was all excited for a second. Not nice!  :'(

(So, apparently I'm going to harsh you for posting without pictures instead of just being glad you haven't forgotten us.)

You know I think if James simply retitled his thread "Cheese" and apologized for his first post being off-topic, all problems would be solved.

Also, whatever happened to Gray Area? I really like his stuff. Somebody go roust him out of whatever "real life" he's hiding in, and make him do art!

He showed his work awhile ago.  Well, Nyr did for him.  But you have a point.

Whilst the others take their 'breaks,' the true artists contribute to the genre with masterful pieces such as this.

In the sandy wastelands of Zalanthas wandered a lone warrior, his head held high in the contemptible rays of Suk-Krath.

How this..

Became this..

I like how the gith became less like walking iguanas and more like devolved elves with patches of scales and what not.

What funny is I actually did enjoy this. Even if you think it's just some funny thing, I actually took the time to notice the details... both of them.. :D

It's something I would not be at all surprised to see chalked on a wall somewhere.
