Title: How do muls know mirukkim?
Post by: sleepyhead on June 27, 2018, 01:40:48 PM
I've toyed with the idea of apping a mul in the past, but I've always wondered about one thing. From my IC experiences with muls, it seems like they know Mirukkim straight out of the box. Is there an IC explanation for this? All muls are born in captivity, and they are not raised by their dwarf sires, but by the slaving House that made them. Why would they bother teaching the muls in particular Mirukkim over any other kind of slave?

I assume dwarves who were born into slavery in their background would also begin play with Mirukkim, but I feel like I can come up with more justification for that, since they might be put into crews with other dwarves, some of whom were enslaved later in life, and pick up the language from those of their race who learned it from their families. I'm still totally puzzled about the muls, though, and I'd love to hear the lore explanation, so that I can understand a bit better if I ever do play one.
