Title: A question about viewing armor
Post by: CodeMaster on February 03, 2014, 07:15:32 PM
Some armor, when you view it from a shopkeep, will give a message about its weight:
You test its weight and decide that you could use it.

Other armor will give no such message.  Is there a difference?

I should clarify that the piece in question is a piece of "body" armor, not a shield or something you would wield.

I -think- that has something to do with whether or not it is too heavy for you to "hold" or "es" the item.

Most armor is useful to most races, and the weight echo when viewing each piece in the shops will reflect that. The weight test tag will be unmistakable when you run across a piece that your PC can't use.

Actually...FantasyWriter is correct.  That message applies only to items you can hold in hand.

All helmets should be bludgeoning weapons.

All helmets should be bludgeoning weapons.

I have ALWAYS thought this.

Everything should be a weapon, and everything should be a throwable.

> ep boots

You hold your pair of chalton leather boots.

> throw boots man north

You hurl your pair of chalton leather boots north.

You hear a man's voice shout from the north, "Who throws a shoe? Really?"

or

> behead half

You skillfully remove the head from a slight, desert-hued half elf.

>get head

You pick up the head of a slight, desert-hued half elf.

> ep head

You brandish the head of a slight, desert-hued half elf.

>attack templar

You viciously bludgeon the rugged, stubble-bearded templar on his head.
