I think game developers need to step back and remember: Games are an artform, and they are an incredible medium to tell a story and ALSO make tons of money.

Executives, marketing, and producers are the problem, not the people who actually do the work.

I would argue that its a tiny bit the developers fault as well. They are the ones who actually make the game afterall.

As I keep saying... just play Indie games. There are plenty that are 'artsy' and fun without mass market appeal.

I don't even know what game that is or what the stats mean  :P looks like a shooter...

That said, has anyone played Deceit? It's a multiplayer game where 4 innocent people try to escape alive while 2 infected (posing as innocents) try to drink enough blood so they can transform into monsters when the lights go out. And kill all the innocents. It's called Deceit because the infected need to convince the innocents they're not actually evil, accuse others, provide made up facts to 'prove' they're good etc. I've watched a LP, looks fun! Could be something for Armer gaming sessions  8)

Gold medals means you were top performer in your team with that category. I was playing a character whose role is like a healer/tank hybrid, but I still got top rank in my team with kills, healing, and capturing objectives. The implication is that my team was trash, as I performed better as a substitute for roles that specialize in those areas, even though my own character was not specialized in those roles.

Overwatch is more fun to play the more skilled you are with it, I find.

Last of Us 2's depiction of a woman just as capable of brutality as a man sits well with me. Not enough physical power fantasies focusing on women these days.

Prey (2017) is a fucking fantastic game. It's scratching so many itches right now. It's like Dead Space meets BioShock. Story has been great but a tad predictable. Atmosphere and scenery are off the charts. Gameplay is fun and tense.

Seriously if you put off playing this game do yourself a favor and get it now. If you at all enjoyed games like BioShock, Dead Space, SOMA. You will enjoy this. So far I honestly think it's better than all of them.

Trying to get my hands on some old games I used to play, Civ III, Spore, Pirates!, things like that. I love classics from the 90s too, although I didn't really get to play many. The oldest I remember that I want to own today are Death Knights of Krynn and King's Quest 7.

Spore is on Steam... what did you like about it? I thought the various minigames were really shallow and poorly executed... never even bothered reaching the final stage.

GoG should have most of the others.  :) Pirates was probably the first game ever that made me pull all-nighters (on my NES), sneaking off to bed at 5 AM before my parents woke up.  ;D

I start at cell stage and stop at the beginning of space stage because it just doesn't feel worth going through anymore after I figured out how sloppy it is. But its an itch I like scratching every once in a while, a playthrough of that game.

I'll admit the creature designer is pretty fun...  :)

Anthem is gonna blow ass. Division 2 will be mediocre at best with occasional bouts of entertainment.

RUINER is probably one of my favorite games at the moment.

tl;dr Cyberpunk Hotline Miami with more adrenaline in the soundtrack

Game is hard as fuck on the hard difficulties and still a decent challenge on the lower ones.

This but it's playing while you flash step around the bullets, bombs, and blades of a couple dozen guys and give it back in return.
